motown, the record label that started it all for millions of my generation was 60 years old yesterday. started on 12 jan 1959 it brought the sound, and dance steps, of young, black america to the world and helped change the music scene forever. as a young mod it was a major influence on my life and lifestyle - clothes, dances, friends - and in a wider sense, an influence on the world through equal rights. and fantastic dance music too!
