Mosaic by Maceo Plex at PACHA 2016

Been reviewing maceo, still abit confused as to what sort of sets to expect from him at pacha as his music differs slightly. I watched abit from him from space and his closing set at amnesia. I'm just thinking of going pacha to see him September and the missus can be abit fussy like ha. Cheers.

I doubt even Maceo knows what style of music he will be playing by September. You can assume with a 20 week residency he is probably going to try quite a few things over the season. Just seen Ivan Smagghe added for 31 May. Interesting booking. Not sure I've seen him since We Love in c.2012!
 
Yeh was abit confused as he played what seems 2 completely different sets. One defo not suited to what you get at pacha.

maceo's music fits pacha perfectly.
 
Does Pacha have a sound these days? Seems to me, most of the clubs split their roster between EDM and underground house/techno in recent years.

Exactly, it used to be mainly house but last 2 times I've been it's more commercial/edm, hence why I asked about maceo as what I've heard from him he doesn't fit any of those categories so won't really fit perfectly for pacha.

Not sure I get this line of discussion. Does any club have a "sound" anymore? Amnesia goes from DnB on a Tuesday to 3 Techno nights and Paris Hilton thrown in.

Pacha in 2016 will have 3 tech/ underground nights (Solomun, Maceo and Insane), 3 commercial nights (Pure, FMIF and MyHouse) and a 60s Flower Power night thrown in on Monday.

The "sound" you hear will depend what night you go.

Yeh, I spose your right. I was just under the impression pacha was a house club but with a load of edm/ cheese nights thrown in to keep the masses of vip happy. I've never listened to Solomun so don't no his sound. So maceo will be very tech / underground style??

Now that Pacha have Flower Power on a Monday.... If you didn't fancy the standard Circo Loco > Cocoon this year...

How about a bit of Flower Power > and then onto Cocoon or Circo Loco > Flower Power.

In a strange messed up (and you probably would be) way either of those combinations could work if you really fancied mixing it all up a bit!

Yes. Go on YouTube and put in Solomun Pacha.... You'll see that for the last 3 years it's anything but Commercial on a Sunday. Or search Insane Digweed Pacha etc....
 
Yeh I like digweed. I'm onto anything really, wasn't to keen on together/ amnesia with chase and status but terrace was decent, sander van doorn. Its just the Mrs, she can be abit funny lol, hence why I ended up at my house/ pacha last year. Yeh I'll give Solomun a listen. Cheers. P.s f*** flower power, I'll listen to most stuff but I ain't doing that one ha.

Just had a listen to Solomun /pacha through dance trippin, defo my style/underground, not so much the other half lol. She likes abit of commercial thrown in. Watching that I'd sooner do that night. Regarding flower power, call me a tight f***er but I'd sooner know what I'm walking into as 50 euro each plus drinks is alot to pay so I want to make sure I'm gonna have a good night with music I want to listen to. Saying that I'd probably end up having a good night at flower power.
 
Been almost no chat about this night. Any idea when line ups will be announced Stivi.
Trying to plan my week and buy tickets and this is the one night I'm still in the dark over.
Expecting Danny Daze or Shall Ocin but wondering if any "big names" were planned.
 
I guess around end of april we should have line ups. who knows, maybe earlier. but I don't think so.

yeah I'm also intrigued to see whether it'll only be ellum artists (shall ocin, gardens of god etc) or other big names apart from maceo. we shall see soon.

I think if I recall Ivan Smagghe has been announced for a date, and DJ Koze on 23 Aug. So maybe some indication of how it will go. I'm guessing it will be Maceo +2 a night?

I think you're right mr why.
Now when I think back I'm pretty sure smagghe is on when I'm there on the 31st of May.
I wonder if Maceo will play his hard hitters or will he water it down for Pacha?
 
i think maceo's music fits pacha more than solomun.

solomun's night at pacha is gr8 i went there like 8 or 9 times, but maceo's music might fit the atmosphere more.
