more Electro in 2008

2008 will see the rise of funky electro and nu-rave...

Watch out for more Ed Banger events (We Love hosted two parties last year) and maybe Kitsuné Ibiza too... :p

We Love/Cream/Manumission already support cool Electro so watch out ;)
 
The term 'electro' is on the way out, electro-house is no longer the buzz word it was. The music will go on but it is wrongly tagged as 'electro'. It's got nothing to do with real 'electro'. i.e Afrika Bambaataa etc.

Personally , I don't like the term nu-rave either.
 
I can't take anymore Minimal and flat tech-house; it reminds me of the end of the Progressive era when all the records were dumb and boring.

I am feeling the nu-electro stuff (Justice/SMD/Digitalism) but I can't stand the cheesy electro-house things (Bodyrox/Fedde Le Grand).
 
Sod electro, we need more jackin' and deep house with soulful vocals! bring back Danny Rampling and the LGDP is what I say 8)
 
ok maybe the erm funky electro is... makes sick too.

Fed up with boring DJs playing records and that's it. In 2008 being JUST a DJ it's not enough for me. In my eyes the most important night in Ibiza in the past two years has been Ibiza Rocks; don't get me wrong I love my Cocoon and my DC10 but aren't they all jumped on the band-wagon now and killed the techno/minimal scene???
 
Please, no more electro comb filter, squelch bass, slightly differently arranged chords from one song to the next ****e...
 
Anything proceeding the terms "nasty" , "dirty" , "filthy" or "twisted" should be binned , more often than not this is electro these days
 
Can't we all just play tunes that get everybody bouncing no matter which of the 305 sub genres they come from

Here here. I bugs me that everything has to be sub - sub - sub catagorised.

People saying they like minimal techno but not maximal, filthy house not pumping house, psy trance not prog trance. It never used to be like that. It was all just rave music, or house.

And people get snobby about it too sometimes.:cry:

how about just calling it EDM (electronic dance music) and saying "i like this tune" and "i don't like that one".
 
SebastiAn/Mehdi/BusyP @ WLS were amazing and made everyone go absolutely mad. So I reckon more Ed Banger equals more fun!
