More Car Opinions Please

I personally didn't like the new TT's but I agree the old ones became an estate agents favourite car. YUK

I agree with thelak, especially the Alfa Romeo spider. Once you have been in an Alfa you will never turn back

Buckley the car you posted is nice. Have you considered a Hybrid car? Save money on parking etc

I've had 2 Alfas - a 156 v6 - Engine blew at 60,000 miles

Alfa 147 temp lease car - Electrical fault 3 times in 5 Months....

Would still have another though - just such good cars to drive (at least the 156 was)

(and as long as someone else is paying! )

We like?

Not really. I assume you've got your heart set on a Merc, though the desire for them has always passed me by other than a status symbol.

Whilst physically the nicer looking to me, a 3 series BMW is still a 3 series BMW.

I would naturally go for the one that shows you know slightly about your motors, though you're not a silly petrol head that can quote the max revs for the '57 chevy.

You want to be an innovator, and not a sheep. You want a car never to be hijacked by the hairdresser, the estate agent, the gangster or anyone from essex, though not niche enough that parts, knowledge, and lack of depreciation are hard to come by.

Require substance, and reliabllty ASWELL as style. Ability to hold a nice comfortable cruising speed, though for street driving just how quick does a cab have to be? "2 miles and hour, so everybodys see's you" as a great poet once said.

It's the Audi A4 Cabrio mate. staring you in the face (well it is now). You can thank me by adding me on the insurance (5 years no claims, leafy bromley zero crime rate etc ;), I have experience in their fore-runner ;), never go out drinking...

And the best thing is that they look the bollocks. Classy and refined yet as previously said not notorious amongst the chavs yet (they all pipe for the TT).

I don't mind what colour you get it in as long as it's black.

Not a fan of Mercs - the cars build quality or the brand image - too much of a 'look at me'....

try getting let out of any road junctions in that.....won't happen.

(IMHO)

I think all blokes, if they are honest, like to drive cars which look good.

(especially those posey bastards who drive those old restored VWs ;))

next door neighbour just got the A4 convertible, S4, lovely motor, puts my new A3 sportback to shame, and hes about 22.....

I am not into status but the Merc is a good car and they are built solid, but they cost a ton when you need repairs8O

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Maybe 15 years ago!

One of my colleagues has a CLS and the stitching in the seats is coming loose, the gearbox has had 3 failures and the dashboard has so much weak plastic on it it's untrue.

I'm running a C220d Avantgarde as a demo at the moment and it's awful - the interior creaks all the time, the seat is uncomfortable, the stereo is terrible (traffic NEVER cuts in) and the steering is really woolly. COnsidering this is the top of the range C Class model it's a big disappointment

Too much cost cuttings vs the 'older' Mercs.
