...I'm sick of Vodafone and want to switch providers/tarrifs soon.

Which would you reccommend and why?

I used to be with Vodafone but I find they had more network down time than any of my other mates providers, Phil was already on T-Mobile so I joined that because we got a deal, I think they're pretty ok to be honest, but I havent tried any others bar these two ...... speak to Jam, he should be able to give you a run down on mobile phone providers (but he does work for 3 I believe.... so he might be a bit biased....   )

Ive been on o2 for about 4 years, no problems and you can get really good phones on good tariffs :)

and then when you upgrade just heckle them to get a better phone.

T Mobile - they're new Flext price plan is soooooo cool!!! i've been an orange customer for 10 years but so glad i switched!

orange - don't always have the latest phones but their customer service is great, and the insurance is brilliant too - expensive but they send you another phone within 24 hrs rather than 2 weeks like carphonewarehouse :x

I used to be with Orange but left them cos of their terrible service and then trying to rob money out of my account  I've been with T-Mobile about 5 years now and never had any problems with them, they give me upgrades regularly and when I've lost/broke my phone (which I do regularly  ) they've sent me replacement the next day at no cost.

have been with
Vodafone (expensive, customer service crap, will never use them again)
O2 (VERY Crap customer service, didnt get the impression anyone knew what they were doing, plus they sponsor the scum)
Orange (Great Customer Service, although handset range isnt the widest, and you dont get that good upgrade deals)
3 - no probs with service of the network, although having a non-UK call centre is a pain in the arse, esp if you've got a really complex problem to explain. good that a board member is high up the chain to sort my probs out!

t-mobile - never been with em, although offer of a free PSP, LCD TV, X-BOX 360 looks mighty tempting...

I was with o2 for years, but was paying so much I wanted to leave. I twice got a letter through the post from them saying...'Sorry Mr Ferguson, your application to leave has been declined'!!!! So, threatened them and they quickly allowed me to leave...joke!!

Curently with Vodaphone. I pay hardly anything cause I agreed to keep the same handset for two years, so am on a 33% discount package. I send about 800 texts a month, and make lots of calls but my bill is only around £20...not bad!

I was on Orange for ages and had no problems with them, but then the phone I wanted was only on 02 so I moved two weeks ago. So far, so good. The reception is better than Orange, imo and the phone is stunning...and I got it for free!

Working in Ireland now so a bit out of the UK but 3's UK price plans are pretty hard to beat and the roaming to Spain was competitive when I checked it out last year.

The vodafone passport is pretty good for overseas and O2 are now owned by Telefonica so expect some decent rates to Spain this Summer!

There you go - unbiased ;)

3 it is then because you're not the first person to say that.

I quite like their pretty logo too.

3 was voted one of the Top 3 disliked brands in the UK this week - you might want to do some reading up on them to check that they're ethically sound  ;)

I was not impressed by 3 at all - they robbed me of loads of money until Mr Jam sorted it for me :D

    they've done well haven't they after just a few years on the market!

You can haggle O2 down on price loads, and Three but they are crap. Just keep asking them for the best deal and Three offered me this that and the other for 50p. Keep telling them to go and speak to their manager because they need to do this to authorise it. Also, keep asking for over and above what you need and they comprimise to what you actually want. Trust me, I used to work in a call center and I have done this with about 5 of my friends. Main point is keep raving on about what Three offered you, they are dead scared about them taking all their market share.

Ooo just remembered, say you will do an 18 month contract but you want a phone upgrade after 12. They love a bit of that too. Also, get their name and say you will come back to them. Then **** them off and say Dave offered me loads better. Wow, I'm so clever. 8)
