Hi there wanted some advise from all your Miami experts!

I have been going to the White Isle for the last 4 years and would like to experience the Miami Winter Music Conference!

When do they release the dates for next year?

Whats the best way to book flight/acc seperate and where should I stay need something not too expensive?

What are the best clubs/parties and are they hard to get into?

How expensive is it over there compared to the White Isle, are drinks as expensive as Ibiza Town, Pacha etc?

I am into house, roger sanchez, Hed Kandi, which places should I go to?
 
hey lotte, im actually in miami at the moment. just about to get on plane home. i was at the wmc last year and it was a pretty good week but it is very different to ibiza. ive noticed this week over here that things have got a lot more expensive and even with the pound being approx $1.8 it has been an expensive week.
As for dates for the WMC, they dont normally relsease them until the end of December so you have to wait until last minute. Its also not worth trying to guess the dates as we nearly did that this year and we would have been out by two weeks. They seem to change them around.
We normally book flights and accom seperate but there are certain travel agents in the UK who cater for th WMC and seem to get good deals on both flights and accom.
Ideally you want to stay on Collins Avenue, south of 20th Street but it will be expensive. Surprisingly you can get some of the better hotels at decent rates for that week if you are lucky. Try the National Hotel. Friends got good rates there last year and this year and its right beside the Delano. We stayed in the Shore Club this week which is really cool but expensive for WMC.
Parties and clubs can be hard to get into and you need to try and get hold of someone in the music business who can get you in. It is difficult and frustrating though.

I agree with the above.....Don't Book Until They Announce the Dates!!!!!!!!!!! The WMC is the closest thing to Ibiza that we have in the States, it is a great week. A big problem is that there is TOO MUCH to do. You are guaranteed to be missing a great party or 5 because there is just way too much packed into one week. It is also pretty comparable to Ibiza in price. Hope that helped.....
I will be in Miami in 3 days to see Lawler on the Space Miami Terrace (anyone else gonna be there?) should be a great warmup for seeing him rock the Space Ibiza Terrace on July 4!!!!
 
I just got back from Miami yesterday! I had a great time last weekend even though it was the hip hop conference. Acutally, for all the negative press that weekend gets, it was not a big deal at all. It was really fun to see all the crazy cars people were driving!

Anyway, I think Miami prices are similar to prices in Ibiza, in terms of club entrance. Space last weekend was $30 and it was not a special event like WMC. Hotels are expensive on South Beach and so is food.

However, I've heard some amazing things about the WMC from all the Miami people I met there!

BTW... Space terrace was ROCKING last saturday. I'm sure it will be out of control for Lawler this weekend!
 
.........i did the WMC this year for the first time....the hotel (10th and Collins)...was $250 per night.....but we managed to get 4 in the room....so it worked out at 40quid a night......Imperative that you stay in this area !...this is we're all the daytime party's are.....Get a three day pass to Space.......you have to be in before 0100......but oh what joy ..to walk past the queue...straight in !.......Do the afternoon party's at Kent and Fairwinds....you will meet some of the best DJ's in the world....all in ..I reckon....plane £300....hotel..depends on how many....on your own could cost $2000......make sure to confirm 2 weeks in advance ( they will try to "walk" you)......spends ..for a week....$1500........clubs to go to.....Opium Garden.....Crobar...Space....Envy.........just get the mag...its all there.....This ONE week in Miami....is as good as it gets............enjoy.....see you there...
