"island except a Space that smells of rotting cherries and a forgetfulness..."

;)

But seriously

:( :?: :? 8O

It seems final, but he doesn't seem like he's placed the last nail in the coffin? Or am wishing false hopes?

Sooo Upsetting!!!

Unfortunately I was not able to hit Ibiza this year, but wow this is a total slap to reality for me. 8O One of the most special places in the world is getting squeezed by some money hungry jerks! Every big city has big dance clubs with famous DJ's, only bora bora has airplanes, sangria, table dancing, and the greatest crowd every day of the week! This is definitely going to be a factor for next year on whether I decide to spend the 4G's for the trip... Yes I know it's a lot, but could you image how much more il'd send if I did not have this place....

Keep up the fight bora bora :!: You are loved by all that have had the pleasure of dancin on the tables! 8)

"Well a few clubs closed us all down and so there's not a lot left on this island except a Space that smells of rotting cherries"

:o

The thing I was most looking forward to this year, and having not really experienced it any other visit to Ibiza (I know, my own fault) I now will never experience Bora Bora to its full

So looks like it it is over for good, do any of you think there is a chance it is open again next year, or even on any other location on ibiza or no=??

I first visited Ibiza as my friends told me about Bora Bora and I thought it sounded amazing. It was the first place i went to in Ibiza. I remember dancing in the sun then jumping in the shower to cool off.

8)

I'm interested to see where Gee pops up again.

Absolutely tragic.

I think it sours the experience for many people to see this kind of draconian attitude on the island that has been for centuries the home of freedom and expression.

I am terribly sad for all the people that this has affected directly.

Totally agree mate ... :!:

Just finished reading The White Island (fantastic book!) and its tragic that after all that history of tolerance and freedom on Ibiza these things are happening ... :?

Money brings power - power corrupts.

That is all.

I'm thinking about giving it a miss next year, largely due to all this crap.

Plus two of the places that i look forward to and signify Ibiza to me , BB and Sa Trinxa, are changed forever. I missed Ancient People this year, never mind Bora Bora next year.

I wouldn't mind(not as much) if there were new replacements coming through to keep the scene a bit interesting, but from what i see there ain't.

And if what Gee thinks is happening is the truth, then it seems unlikely that any new fresh venues will emerge independently.

Isle of Wight anyone? Well it's almost the White Isle.

I think Gee will do ok.

Don't kid yourself too much that Bora Bora had no commerciality. The free beach bar thing had become a loss leader, a way in to lucrative world tours, CD & DVD sales and DJ bookings around the world and also, shock horror, DJ bookings at at least one (El Divino), perhaps more (anyone seen Gee play other clubs on the island?) of the big 7 clubs.

Gee's touting Brazil as the next big thing. That'd be the Brazil where the El Divino Cafe is already thriving, methinks? Think they are opening a club there shortly too. Anyone make the conceptual leap?

I too will miss Bora Bora though. Shame, but if you undercut the big boys in any business, if they can shut you down, they will.

Funny you should mention Gee and Brazil....remember my mate Martin, whos villa i was staying at??

Well he was asked to fund a documentary - all about Gee's adventure in setting up a club in Brazil! Martin met Gee for lunch and had a long chat about it - but he decided not to help fund it....just as well!

Me too mate, not while there is so much nonsense going on.

Though there are other reasons like a big fat morgage.
