meganite will be definitely a MUCH MUCH harder kind of techno than cocoon...

although I love techno, I Can't stand the hard monotonous style liebing plays... therefore, I'm not going to privilege.

i love sooo many syles of techno wether it be hard,..minimal etc i really cant wait for those 2 nights,...we r booking up this sat and im making sure that we r not flying out on a monday or wednesday! :twisted:

cant believe hawtin aint playing when im there. he plays the week before we get there and the week after i leave :(

Meganite will probably have an harder type of techno.
At Cocoon u can find alot of electro as well.

Oh and last time i checked, Richie Hawtin didn't play 'hard' at all. He usually plays minimal german techno.

Really? I suppose it depends on the day, because he was playing quite a hard techno (too hard) when I was in Cocoon last summer. And people say he use to be harder than Sven Väth.

It all depends which week you go.

Both nights have a very diverse selection of guest DJ's this year, but in general, the meganite DJ's like chris liebing, ben sims, christian smith etc play quite hard.

Coccoon seems to be going for a more diverse line-up including tech-house, minimal tech, funky techno etc with guys like Funk D' void, Laurent Garnier, Alexander Kowalski, Terry Francis.

Richie Hawtin played quite banging last year.........he mixes it up between minimal and harder techno.
 
ok thank you. So I would choose Cocoon if for instance Garnier or Väth were playing that night. I can't stand hard techno.

Ricardo Villalobos & Les Schmitz were fab on the terrace of Amnesia playing minimal house and minimal techno. The shame is that the terrace was at 1/4 or less when I was there.
 
Well i was talking about the set i heard by Richie last year at Cocoon closing party, as he warmed up Sven Vath.
Also i'm judging by 2-3 sets i've heard by him recently, which were all minimal techno (not the banging, hard type u dislike).

But i guess it goes as u said - it all depends on the day/night... :P
 
Without sounding like a techno snob, whilst he's got some good guests on (Ben Sims) I'd hardly class Picotto in the same way as Cox, plus he's got Fergie on one night. :lol:

But more techno on the island canny be a bad thing.

Picotto is a lot more 'banging'. Cocoon is more varied, especially as you can escape to the 'house' room if needs be.

Hi,

there will be a house room as well. Coco Loco will be opened with true balearic house sound.....
