MCs - Kill them all!

I've been listening to some "recorded live" sets lately and getting very irate due to this one MC guy. Every 30-60s this guy comes on and speaks in some crazy language, announces the DJ, and then he'll repeat some word over and over about 20 times. Then he'll try to get the crowd into it and start yelling some more crap...it drives me CRAZY! The music has generally been good but I just have to stop listening because I get so irate. If someone did this in a club I would have to kill them! I don't need someone to tell me who I'm listening to every minute and I certainly don't need someone repeating some word OVER AND OVER!

Avoid these sets at all costs:
Nic Fanciulli & Paolo Mojo - Padova, Italy (12/7/04)
Tom Stephan - Metropolis (9/13/03)
Tomiie, Romero, & Deep Dish - Live @ Ditellandia (1/6/03)

Does anyone else find this annoying or am I the only one?

Sorry, I just had to vent... :( It's been a weird day...and it's only 9:45AM. :cry:

I agree, that is very annoying. Hence, why I don't listen to that stuff too much.
 
I downloaded a wicked set by DJ Falcon a couple of years ago (Barbie and Robo may remember it?) with some stoopid MC shouting out every few minutes.

Such a shame cos it was a great set.

No way, that's why I'm so shocked that I'd hear MCs over the stuff I normally listen to, mostly house. Nic Fanciulli, Tom Stephan, Deep Dish. Their stuff doesn't need MCs and quite frankly it ruins the music IMHO.

And I don't really know what they say because it's in another language but I'm sure it is something of that sort.
 
I respect Audio Bullys for the tunes they make, and the DJ is ok I spose, but WTF is that MC guy all about? For one, he isnt even a good MC, two... you just do not MC over house music! It is just wrong wrong wrong!

For some weird reason Erick Morillo thinks it sounds good, and I've walked out on many an Erick set when that Audio Bullys guy has grabbed the mic and shouted at the crowd "OI OI WHERE'S ALL THE GALS AND DA BOYS"

Erm.... no :roll: :?
 
Only one person is allowed to use a mic over a house set - Harry C C (but even he doesnt really anymore does he?)

I was just thinking about that set when i read this post drew. Pisses me right off it does! :twisted:
 
This is one of the reasons I don't like Groove Armada's DJ sets. They've got that stupid MC that talks all over the records. :evil:

What I want to know is WHAT IS THEIR PURPOSE??? If you can't get riled up by the emotion and intensity of the music alone, then it ain't worth listening to in the first place IMOP. I agree j_love, they shut all shut the hell up.

I forgot all about the Audio Bullys when I posted originally. I saw them once at a club here in Denver (The Church), and they were shit. Then again, the sound system at the Church is horrible (too much bass).
