Match tonight..

****in embarrassment tonite Ireland barely beat minnows San Marino 2-1 getting a goal in injury time against what are the worst team in Europe, what a ****in joke, the goal we gave away was shocking something you would see a schoolboy team doing,.

The Football Association of Ireland should hang their heads in shame appointing a clown like Steve Staunton,i knew from the outset this was a bad move, Brian Kerr should've been kept on, this fool Staunton isn't cut out to be an International manager he should stick to managing non league clubs, he should resign with immediate effect and do the decent thing, i feel sorry for the fans who travelled there tonite and had to witness this garbage, the players should be ashamed of themselves, we should be putting 6/7 goals past these minnows not barely scraping a 2-1 win, we are the laughing stock of Europe this evening.

We've no chance of qualifying for the Euro Championships if we keep this up... resign Staunton you ****.:evil:

Disappointed then Jonny

I feel sorry for the fans who travelled there tonite shelling out good money and had to watch that garbage, i think my uncle may have gone over.

That clown Staunton is unreal, when interviewed he said "oh it's the 3 points that matters" instead of acknowledging that it was nothing short of diabolical.

RESIGN STAUNTON YOU CU*T :x

3 points in the bag... and you think your FA should appoint a new manager?

Oh aye, Jonny isnae happy, lets get the old guy back! Good one

And it was a Man City player who got the winner. ;)

(And another one who was the best player for Engerland)

So, what's with playing the 2nd string tonight? Why would Alonso, Fabregas and Torres start on the bench?
I take that back... from what I read, Xavi and Villas were the stars last night.

I bet you're a happy camper today, eh Ferd? Bragging rights at the office this morning? ;)

What about me

I bet FHFHFH is just celebrating Spain's goal with a shot

What about you what?
Have you ever supported Barça by sympatie when they played against Chelsea? 8O
It just feel really wrong to not support Ferd on football

8)

Silvia, im glad you were with me on this one  , it was even OUR Iniesta who scored a blinding goal ;)

Youre right Morbyd, I've got bragging rights in the office today. Although all of a sudden it was only a friendly and apparently it doesnt matter.

Didnt think spain were that good to be honest, but England were very poor. Thought yet again Xavi bossed the midfield after England's initial burst of energy ran out at the start of each half. (When will pundits realise it impossible to maintain that sort of pressure for 90 minutes? Its all about ball retention, and England just seemed to hoof the ball to crouch all night long)

Our best players were Xavi and Villa. Morientes continued his Liverpool form missing an abosoutely sitter

I heard this morning it was OUR Iniesta, and I also felt very proud when they said OUR Xavi was the best player

To be expected... when you win, it's important. When you lose, it's "only a friendly". Human nature

3 points it may be but scoring the winner in injury time against the worst team in Europe, most of who have full time day jobs, conceding a goal like we did schoolboy stuff is nothing short of dialbolical, losing 5-2 to Cyprus another bad team, you think im the only person who wants Staunton out?

Most Irish football fans do, check Internet message forums here, read the press, this clown is not fit to manage an International team, he should've stuck with being assistant manager of Walsall or some mickey mouse team, instead of actually acknowledging that we were sh*t last nite and promising all he can to rectify the situation he droned on about "the commitment the lads have shown" and "it's 3 points in the bag" Staunton knows he has fu*ked up but is in denial.. well im sorry but that's not good enough, Brian Kerr should've never been let go,he was afar superior manager to Staunton.

I've no faith in mclaren whatsoever! a very bad appointment in my mind... I mean what exactly has he ever achieved? the biggest night of his career he was absolutely trounced in an embarrassing fashion! The comment on England retaining possession was spot on! And from listening to Waddle on the commentary last night he made another good point about how the spanish had enough confidence in their team mates to pass it them when they had an england player a few yards away when ours wouldn't pass it to a team mate when a spanish player was 10-15 yards away?

This all said we were missing 7 players... Joe Cole, John Terry, Ashley Cole, Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Lennon and Hargreaves... all of which would be IMO in our first 11!

I was at Old Trafford last night

It was cold, damp and miserable....

as for the weather, it was bloomin' freezing !

Good to see you still have a sense of humour.

Jonny i agree with what youre saying. You will have a much better team with those players back in. Still not convinced Lampard and Gerrard can play in the same team though!

Do you know the last game I went to as well... Old Trafford, 3 or so months ago ... against Macedonia :spank: I should have learnt my lesson then

Even with the injuries... the line up and tactics were unbelievable yesterday. When I heard the line up in the car on the way down I felt like turning round! I'm normally one to stick with the team through thick and thin, but i'm pretty worried about the state of affairs with McClaren in charge.. A little worried about our trip to Israel next month too.
