...about a Gulf war veteran beating the sh1t out of a hoodied yob, after him being caught junping all over his car!!!

It went to court and the Judge let the war vet walk free, after accepting that the Police had not done enough to curtail these yobs' actions, and the area was falling victim to crime and anti-social behaviour.

Apparantly the good man 'kicked and punched him like a punchbag' - Superb.

More like this please!!! :D :D :D

read that yesterday, the kids face was a mess. the guy will still have a criminal record though so he hasnt got completely off, although, if i remember correctly he will not have to pat any compo to the kid.

we're at a pivotal time for this increase in yob culture, and unless the government cracks this problem i envisage society similar to that in a clockwork orange in the not to distant future.

its time to go and claim back the streets. go and happy slap a youth today!

And do you think it's a good new?

That's like going back 2000 years ago and the Talion Law

Yes it is good news. It's about time they got some of their own medicine. Tends to be far more effective than a £5 (spead over 600 months) fine in court.

The police choose to pick on easy targets such a motorists etc when they should be spending more time clearing our streets of hoodies and the like.

More and more people will start going down the vigilante route the way things are going.

I predict local anti hoodie militia groups will soon become popular 8) :D

Sets of Stocks and public flogging should also be considered.

So next marvellous story would be "they cutted his hand cos he took an apple from a private tree", like they used to do about 1.500 years ago

I think crime in the uk has gone a little further than scromping Sil.

I can't belive you are clapping hands cos a judge considered that violence is the best way to beat violence. I don't think it's about levels of, it's about principles.
And I insist, it's talion law 2000 years after

your missing the point Silvia

the UK has gone to some twisted extreme with its justice system.

for instance, until recently (i think they have backtracked on this one) if someone illegally entered your house to steal from you and you found them and restrained them. there have been cases where the criminal was slightly injured, then in court - the criminal not only gets off with the attempted robbery but the person who was being robbed gets hit with paying compensation to the thief! 8O

British justice is now all about a criminals rights and not about the person it should focus on - the victim

This has led to intolerable yob culture mentality in the Uk where ordinary people cannot feel safe from these hoodlums

This case is indeed good news and a step in the right direection.

Fair point, and thanks for explaining to me macdonsj, but anyway, if the man didn't get any little fine or similar it's violence to beat violence and that's very shocking in 2005

I really can't see why you think that Sil?

If they are prepared to inflict damage/injury to a person or their property, why is it wrong to punish them the same way.

Live by the sword, die by the sword i say.

Vigilante justice! Great idea! :D Let's beat the crap out of any "yob" who steps over the line!!

On the one hand, of course people should be allowed to take action to perfect themselves and their property. Granted.

On the other, beating the bloody hell out of someone is what some might say constitutes "excessive force". It starts there, it ends in deaths.

Vigilante justice is not the way to deal with problems with crime and with your court system. If you think it is, you are sorely mistaken.

Thats the british system for you now (possibly set-up chiefly to line the pockets of a certain Mrs Blair)

Victims of crime are forgotten in the stampede to fawn at the feet of the criminals.

Violence beating violence only means more violence.

Last week someone was giving Gandhi as an example and everybody clapped hands...

cannot argue that Ghandi & King were shining examples.

However, the youths that we are referring to would not have any respect for these great men. More likely that they would be jumping up and down on them. After that the courts would give them a holiday in the sun to get over their ordeal :?

Sounds like a case for legal reform, not for condoning vigilantes
