Manumission saved my life

I never thought I'd say this but to all those people who are deciding whether or not to go to Manumission: GO!

I went last Monday as two djs I know were playing in the Music Box and was just dumbstruck by it all.

I had been expecting loads of beerboys, bad attitude and ropey music but instead got amazing tracks and some of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met. Where else would you get the promoters and djs dancing in amongst the plebs and chatting away to them?

I didn't even feel upset for missing Cocoon that week!

but did u go into the main event or did you stay in the music box the whole night?

;)

ummm

I think we should do a poll.

1) Is Clara's evil twin done her in and now pretending to be her

2) Did she bump her head on holiday

3) Is acid involved somewhere?

SERIOUSLY NOW!!! Does this:-

sound like our Clarabelle?!

 @ plebs btw

I know, I find it hard to belive too but the whole night was amazing. The show was totally OTT but wonderful for it and the music in the main room pretty decent too, if a bit obvious (Scissor Sisters, Daft Punk, Mylo...).

But the Carry On was incredible. I think it should be illegal to have that much fun. And it probably is!

I'm normally the kind of guy that goes to DC10, Space, Pacha etc...

Went to Manumission in 2001 and didn't think much of it.

However, gave it a go this year and was VERY impressed.

The opinions of Manumission being full of beer boys, tacky etc... are outdated

it's a top night once again

Glad you had a good time Clara ;)

Exactly. Lots of members havent been since 2000 or before but still act like the anti-mish tourist board when they really dont see how its getting back to how it used to be.

Having said that there have still been bad reviews from people this year which goes to show it's still like Marmite!

Ello!

I went to Manumission last Monday (6th) for the first time, and thought it was brilliant. The most annoying thing is all the people pushing past/constantly walking around when you're trying to dance. Nevertheless, it is a different experience and well worth checking out - at least you get a 'show' thrown in for your ticket price, which is more than you get from most clubs!

I was at Manumission on 06/09 as well and it was both my first visit to Manumission and the island. I was impressed by Manumission and even though some of the tunes were a bit obvious at Manumission the music isn't the main focus its more the whole showcase with the music there to get everyone dancing, which it did. I personally didn't have any trouble with the crowd, although I was standing on the benches round the pool dancing :P

I normally quite like Manumission, but didnt this year. So..did what Clara did and spent most of my time in the smaller rooms

Me too. I was there on Mon 13th and didn't really enjoy it. Found the casualties and the fight at the main entrance more entertaining :P
