my first time in ibiza only going for a week so which should i go to?

in my opinion both are quality, release yourself is more about the music, but if you haven't been to manumission before, it's one of those things you should do b4 you die !!

Go to Manumission :!: It´s "once in a lifetime" experience.

Release Yourself is a good club with quality music but you can go to Pacha some other night...

is it possible to do both in the 1 night?

Personally I would do Release Yourself and then do the Manumission Carry On @ Space on Tuesday morning. Manumission does sometimes attract a beer boy crowd whereas the Aftershow attacts a similar crowd to the Manumission of old.

my 2cents: manumission is a horrible tourist trap. hated it. the music is rubbish and the sound in there is awful. the dj's in the toilets are cool, the show's are ususally ok, not that much different nowadays to a million other sub Cirque Du Solei rip-offs.

Everybody says you have to go once but i did, hated it, and feel that the only reason it survives is on fresh meat. How many people really, really go back to Manumission after the first time. Not that many i fink..

8O Babs you say this all the time but when did you last go to manumission?

You have to go to a night in recent years to be able to give advice on whether to go to it or not surely.

September 2001 was last time I went so I'd say that's still fairly recent enough to be able to pass comment.

cos nothing changes in 2 seasons on ibiza?

i agree 2001 was a poor year with a poor crowd.

however last year was back to the manumission of old... candy box (or whatever it's called now) was the gayest room on the island (cept anfora) and manumission was back to the old transvesites 8O , fancy dress policeman, bunny hotpants ;) etc etc as it used to be.

don't ya think you'll ever try it again?

I don't think it's a case of nothing changing in 2 years in Ibiza I just think it's hard for Manumission to shake off the Ibiza Uncovered tag and hence that's why it attacts the crowd it does (not saying everyone there is like that cos they're obviously not by any means).

We spoke to some people last summer who went to Manumission for the first time cos they felt they had to see what the fuss is all about and they weren't impressed with the music and crowd altho your summing up of it does sound like a return to old ;)

I don't slag off Manumission for the sake of it, between 1996 and 2001 I probably went there 15x, I even saw the Millennium in there, my last couple of impressions of it tho were that it had lost it :?

And as for going back, well you never say never, but I'm more than likely just to stick with the Carry On ;)

I have been to Manumission 3 times. The last two years I missed it and went to other things. This year as a few of my mates are 'Ibiza virgins' we will be going to Mann' to show them the size of it all. If it is crap we will goto Pacha but it is a must see IMO at least once. 8)

i didnt think you did just slag it off for the sake of it. ;)

my point follows on from yours... it won't ever shake off the ibiza uncovered image if people dont give it chance to.

it does seem to be getting better. and last year we noticed that all people who we may categorise as BB's had left by 4ish and there was just the carry on kinda crowd left 8O

Well who knows maybe one day I'll embrace the Manumission experience again 8O  ;)

Do Roger Sanchez, I had a shite time when I went there so did my mates.

Plus i'm off with anything related to manumission at the moment. I was seeing a girl who dances for them which ended in a mess big time so well off them.

Roger Rules over manumission.

im having the same dilema!

me an alex had an argument over this lol

but in the end we have decided to go to manumission as we aint been before, sorry sanchez will have to see u some other time!

My advice is, as its your first time, go to Manumission and see if you like it, make sure you stay till after the sunrise has filtered through the big glass window and you will find as Stuie says that as the crowd thins the atmosphere picks up. If you love the vibe thern get yourself down Space for the Carry-On afterwards!!

Release Yourself is a really good night, but my advice for first timers is to go to as many different clubs as possible that you can fit into your week.....i.e try an ight each at Space, Pacha, El Divino, Amnesia etc....
