Manumission goes mobile for Ibiza party season

Mobile video firm Mobestar has signed a three-year deal with Manumission to launch a new mobile entertainment channel for the famous Ibiza nightclub.

The channel will include live and archive video footage from the show, previews, performer profiles, exclusive interviews, voting, competitions and wallpapers.

The first Manumission mobile services are expected to go live shortly after the club’s opening this year on 4 July.

The mobile services will promote Manumission’s latest music venue project ‘Ibiza Rocks’, which launches on the island next month, embracing the popularity of dance-friendly rock music.

Ibiza Rocks will showcase rock bands from around the world on Friday evenings, including Kaiser Chiefs and Babyshambles alongside dance names including Mylo.

Manumission claims to be the biggest nightclub in the world, attracting crowds of more than 10,000 every Monday throughout the summer season.

Andy McKay, co-founder of Manumission, said: "Manumission has always been the multi-media party brand, and we have always felt limited by the constraints of one dimensional brand extensions like CDs.

“Now technology has caught up with our dreams and this partnership with Mobestar is the first visible result. This year people will be able to take a little piece of Manumission home with them, and it will be in a format that can do us justice."

Mobestar also plans to develop a mobile community for Manumission based on its flagship Video Community Server application (VCS) which is due to launch in the autumn
