That ad is well funny and so true thats what americans would do to our game
No it's not

Football is the No. 2 participation sport among kids in the US and has been for decades. Our national team was ranked higher than England's at one point since the last World Cup.

Yes, we had a dry spell in 1980s-early 1990s (after the North American Soccer League, where Pele finished his career, went bust, and before the '94 World Cup in the States). However, the new top league is doing well and almost every city with a team is building a new purpose-built stadium.

In any case, Manchester United is a Plc. It's a business, and Glazer has proved to be an astute businessman. As such, he will know that his bread is buttered by the fans, so he will do all he can to build their trust.

I remember back in the 90's when the World Cup was hosted in the US and the American Network Companies were trying to get negotiations started on getting each game split into 4 periods for advertising space on US TV....

They love their commercials... that's why it's impossible to watch American Football games on TV anymore.

But things have change vis-a-vis soccer. There's Fox Sports World and Fox Soccer Channel now. 8)

P1ss my sides today....Manure has been selling it's fans out for years...Im luvin it....any team with a devil in the crest is pure ee-vil in my eyes and they deserve everything they get.

I'm goin supersize to celebrate....!!

im sure mambo will appreciate this thread

 At work today one of my colleagues (34, mother of 2 toddlers) tried to make conversation with a resident male Manc colleague about this & his classic retort was "Don't even try to talk about something you know nothing about. Why don't you stick to your knitting."

Sounds like a nice guy.

He owns 72% of the shares, he needs 75% to hand over his dept to the club and he needs 80% to take it of the stock market.

Man utd is one of only a few teams that have no debt. I dont think he should be able to do what he is doing. He will be putting utd in 4 times more debt than leeds were when they went bust. united will have to pay £100,000 a day intrest.

Glazer has never been to old trafford and has never shown an interest in the game. I bet he dosent even know the off side rule. I am gutted this is happening. He has alot to prove. It has been proved in the past that big depts in a club can cripple and ruin a club. specially if they are not winning trophies and there not in the champions league. Lets hope they send Timmy turets bck to were he came from and get in the real madrid keeper!

He's got a very caustic northern sense of humour.
Another colleague wound him up a treat today asking him if he wanted to sell his match tickets (which for the first time ever in 35 years he has not been able to obtain), this sent him off on a mad diatribe about those "only been a Man U fan for 5 mins" getting his allocation of tickets
