right.

finally getting a replacement laptop - 2GHz Macbook, have gotten my mitts on a copy of Logic Express too... what other bits of equipment do i need... MIDI Keyboard?

:?:

ta in advance!

if you're getting a midi keyboard you'll probably want a better soundcard. Something with midi inputs on it too. Otherwise you'll press a key on your keyboard and there will be a noticeable delay before the sound is played.

chewie-that keystation 49e is a great midi keyboard-don't worry about latency with the mac-i started out with that at the beginning of my career but with a G4 Powerbook and the reason 1.0 software....i would just print all my tracks to Pro Tools via ReWire for mixing because reason can't mix for sh**

but Logic Express is a good software..easy to use and has some great synths and samplers like the ES 2 and your future buddy that every producer uses, the EXS 24 sampler..don't forget about Logic Pro when you step up your game...good luck man:)

my bf is selling off some of his studio equipment i will find out what he is selling - he makes deep house/minimal tunes so u might be interested in some of it

as far as i know he runs a pc with cubase, also he has akai sampler, 2cdjs, a cdr, an access virus, another couple of analogue synths, korg midi keyboard, about 4 effects/filters in a rack unit and a mackie 48 track mixing desk. it is easy enough that even i can make a relatively passable tune on it.

have fun making the tunes. its very addictive!

nah mac is 'better' for music really. You can get a nice USB/firewire sound card. Have a word with mr sun and see what one he has.
