It has a bad reputation in the UK (Or a good one depending on your point of view I guess!)
It was nicknamed 'Shagaluf' in the UK:
It was known as the Mecca for the 'British Holidaymaker' who's idea of a good time is to get horribly drunk everynight, wear football (soccer) shirts the whole time and aim to have sex with as many women as possible..
A terrible generalisation I'll admit, and I've never been myself so it may be very different to the reputation but who knows......

Magaluf is pretty much the same as the west end, but if you take the time there are some nice spots and restaurants off the beaten track.

Most folks I know have had a Magalluf holiday. It's cheap and cheerful and doesn't really pretend to be anything else. Theres a small area where Palma Nova and Magalluf meet, the name escapes me, but thats where the fun is. Be prepared for big crowds of lairy drunk people. Clubs are hit and miss, but a night outs what you make of it. BCM is a good club, but avoid the foam parties at Millenium, they'll make you skin itch and most of my crowd were pretty ill (not hungover) the next day, and then I got an ear infection. Theres also loads of Swedish girls going about 
You won't have to worry about taking girls back to your apartment. if i remember correctly, they're mostly quite happy to fornicate in any given location. Have fun!

I'm sure I read somewhere there was one girl to every eight blokes - not a good ratio. 
bad taste? this is an educational thread for a young american boy to be educated in the ways of Magaluf and keep him from drinkin too much and wakin up with his ass bleeding an euro pinned to his shirt..Anyway I went to the shagaluf website, and it seems like everyone there is a guy or a middle aged woman looking for sex.. I donno i much rather enjoy trance music than middle aged women.. no offense

Some of my friends went to Magaluf for a stag weekend last week. They said they had loads of fun and met lots of cool people, went to lots of good bars and found decent places to eat too

My gran went to Magaluf not long ago for a month and hated it. She's 73. No joke.

an old school mates grandparents have a villa about 15 mins outside of magaluf in san agustin. from what i can remember it was nice litlle town as was palma nova with some nice litlle restaruants and bars. as far as clubbin and bars in magaluf i was 13 first time i went. i loved it then as we were able to buy alchol and cigarettes out of the view of mates granparents (naughty girls!) i hated smokin too! i remember her granparents lettin us go to bcm as it was an under 18's spanish night. we had some hooch sneakily behind the corner before we went in then got our bums pinched by lots of cheeky spanish boys we couldn't understand! great times! went again when was 16 went out more then. at the time i really loved bcm think its what got me into house music, unfortunately i had to wait 2 or 3 years for my mates to share my enthusiasm and come explore ibiza with me! magaluf doesnt come close to ibiza for me now. but if you want a cheaper holiday its ok. i agree with the comments on its similarity with the west end in san an. its like that but bigger! not my cuppa cha but some would like it i imagine.
