Madrid

I am going to Madrid this weekend having last been there 18 months ago and looking for some up to date advice on going out clubbing. I've previously been to Ohm and done the Space of Sound on to People thing when it was on Sunday afternoon. Brilliant atmosphere and crowd.

It appears Space of Sound is now on in the evening - is it still as good / busy? Is People busy before it ? If not has anyone any suggested alternatives for Sunday on a funky house tip ?

Any advice much appreciated.

Hey...

Welcome then. Im from madrid.

Now some clubs up to date well i would recomend

Cool @ Royal Coolture Club

Space of sound, i dont really know but it seams that it will open again since last sunday every sunday as after hour but it will keep their evening sesion at SpaceNoche also @ Royal Cooltur Club (Street Isabel la católica no.6)

There is also a good after hour club called Noxx at Galileo Street no.26

people is still open on sunday evening too, and there is also a club called Escense at street princesa no.1 (in Arena Club)

This are mostly gay oriented clubs, cool the most, space of sound, people and escense is more mixed.

Yes, Space of Sound opens again on Sunday morning till 7pm more or less. Wicked! Very wicked club! As Makkinero say it's very gay-friendly and still lots of straight people so you'll surely feel on your place.

Afterwards (Sunday evening) People or Essence. People has a posher audience and more elegant music (and it's in Maxime, a very beautiful venue) and Essence is a little harder and it's in Arena (more industrial and darker look).

Sunday nights:
-the Space of Sound night session at Cool. But I would recommend you the one in the morning at Macumba, as the venue is an eye-opener and quite bigger.
-Heaven
-Week-end @ Bash, gay mixed.

Saturday nights:
- Danzoo @ Maxime (house)
- Ohm @ Bash (gay mixed) (house)
- The Room @ Stella (deep and electronic house)
- Royal @ Cool (very gay as Makkinero said)
....

Fridays:
the most known
- Deep @ El Divino (house).

I recommend you a lot to visit some clubbing guide of Madrid to read reviews, schedules, addresses and other comments, and to difference between underground music clubs or commercial ones. Try clubbingspain.com

I´m sorry Nagasaki, there are no raves or private parties this weekend. Those are the only good things here in Madrid. The rest, in my opinion, sucks.
And a piece of advice: if you go walking the street, watch out for pickpockets, this year we have plenty of them. Good luck!!!

By the way, where are you staying???

vaya. a eso si k le llamo yo hacer buena publicidad a alguien que quiera venir a madrid de visita.... no me extraña que asi el turismo baje mas...

nagasaki... take in mind what kind of music you like and then look at the post of Tiger... very well up-todate list of discos..

just to add that most of the discos that are on saturday also are on sunday... and of course space of sound is a must on sunday morning...

and hey... pickpockets... there are also not that much... live here since 1998 and never got a problem with that... just keep a good eye on it... like in every other big town.

and hey!!! WELCOME AND ENJOY YOUR STAY

Thanks for all your advice. I'll definately try and make it to Macumba on Sunday daytime. Last time it certainly was unexpected walking straight from a shopping centre (!!!!!!!) into a massive room rammed full people having it at 2pm on a sunday afternoon.
