Madonna's new baby

Do you think what she's done is going to be beneficial for the baby concerned??

Or would she have been better of putting her money into something that could have supported lots of children in Malawi instead of cherry picking just the one??

Or is she just an old leotard wearing bint who should put her crotch away :lol:
 
I don’t think its right that she got the baby. Okay he will have a better life but there’s so many people out there that are dying for a baby and it takes years, I don’t see why she can just come pick one like their a dog in the pound. :)
 
I think it's disgusting. If she really, really wanted to adopt an African child, why not adopt a true orphan with no parents? David's father is still alive, but unable to care for his son and also work. That's why he was in the orphanage. He used to visit him lots though, along with other members of David's family.
Madonna could have given this man money to be able to care for his son, and David would have been brought up with his real family around him, and in his natural birthplace and environment. Instead he's going to be subject to a life in the media's eye, constantly being photographed and followed by the press. Poor mite :(

Just seeing the first photos of him being bundled through Heathrow, camera bulbs flashing, it makes you think what kind of life this little guy is going to have now. Ok, he'll be living in a mansion and wont ever want for anything, but is this a substitute to know you were taken from your father and thrust into a life of fame?

Grrrr I really don't like Madonna! :x

How come she's managed to by-pass all the normal adoption procedures just cos she's an old cow with lots of money who prances round in a leotard :roll: Granted the kid will have a life like he could never have imagined in a 10000000000 years but is that necessarily the best thing for him.
 
Anybody else would have had to have lived in Malawi for 18months to prove they were serious about adopting a child from there. Can you imagine her doing that? Somehow I think not. No doubt if the authorities had demanded she do this, little David would have been dropped like a ton of hot bricks!

She's just following the new celeb fashion of adopting childrean from Africa. Very sad.

I’m sure you did have to. It’s a Joke.They said on the news earlier that she picked him from a line up and that they put out the most attractive Kids. I don’t know how true that is but it wouldn’t surprise me. He is a gorgeous looking child tho..

I can see it now, Paris Hilton walking around with a little black baby other her arm. Or in her handbag
 
I agree with everything that has been said but sometimes it is good to see the other side of things.

If Madonna was not famous, say just a normal Joe who had been travelling, and had fallen in love with this child, and had heard that the kids mother had died and that the dad was not intelligent enough to look after his kid and asked Madonna (remember Madonna is a normal jo) to take and care for the child because he will not have a normal life would Madonna still be crizised? Or would she be a saint saving a kid from a life of misery?

I’m sure in the hearts of hearts Madonna has only tried to do a good deed, yet has gone the wrong way about it.

But that's the point a 'normal Joe' wouldn't have been able to do that as Malawi adoption laws state that people who want to adopt from that country have to live their for 18 months before they can adopt.

I think people who adopt children are some of the most selfless people in the world........I just think Madonna has gone completely the wrong way about it and what she's done isn't necessarily in the best interests of the child.

If she wants to adopt that much, why not adopt from her home country of America or England (cos she likes to think she's English these days) - there's 1000s of children who need good homes in this country but cos they're generally not 'cute little babies' they don't fit in with her 'cute little family' image do they :roll:

A normal joe would never been asked to take care of the kdi cos it's ilegal in Mali. Madonna is taking advantage of being Madonna, give the money or adopt a kid somewhere else but under the legality
 
I think everyone would be rating Madonna for doing this if it didnt seem like she was just jumping on the bandwagon of the latest celebrity fad....if Angelina's got one then I have to have one!


Having said that the kid would probably have a better life than growing up in an orphanage in Malawi...the issue of growing up in the media spotlight is probably another debate but on pure standard of living if you considering the baby's welfare (which should be first and foremost) you cant really argue.....this would be the case whether it was with your average middle class english family or madonna
 
Why travel to Malawi? There are enough kids to help after hurricane Katrina but madonna likes the spotlights
 
I think Jon's got a point that what she's doing is essentially a good thing - giving a child a loving home. OK, she could have done something more/better, but that's like saying, "Bono should shut up about ending poverty until he gives all his millions to charity".

No no, holly, it's not untel she gives the money, it's until she makes it legally. THere's thousands of families waiting to adopt a kid for years, I don't think it's fair and honest to adopt a baby in two weeks just cos she is Madonna
 
Madonna is 47 or 48 years old ....... in this age you have no chance to adopt a baby in Germany ......

My colleague has adopt a little girl from India ...... he and his wife have waiting 4 or 5 years before they get the permission ....
 
its the trend of all these hollowood folk now, stealing babies from third-world countries..

Plenty of children need love and care... but its seems the poorer the country the better... angelina jolie has kids from cambodia and ethiopia...

of course they are giving these children a good home... but a others have said, why the special treatment just because they're famous

But on the baby subject I think 'fine what of it'...there's nothing about her that screams bad mother at me.

So while I understand people's strong opinions on the subject...I think it's been blown out of proportion because people love saying, "I HAAAAAAAAAAATE MADONNA!" (or insert random celeb name here.)

It may be suspect but I don't think the kid will be harmed in any way - she's not Michael Jackson...and there are better things in the world to worry about.
