sandi, coques are traditional dishes from Mallorca, it's like a pizza base (kinda) with veggies and sardines on it but no cheese ;)

there are 3 traditional types:
-prebes torrats ( grilled red peppers and you can add onion, bot leek, tuna fish, fresh sliced tomato, sardines, etc and a drop of oil))
-trampó ( this one haves mallorcan green peppers, onions and tomato, is like if you eat the traditional trampó salad but cooked on top of the pastry, some people also add tuna fish)
-julivert, this one takes parsley and you can add sardines etc
ofcourse this coques takes new innovations plu everyhouse has they personal way of doing them.
The pastry has olive oil and lard . In Mallorca there is lots of pastry recipes that uses lard or a combination of lard and oil. As Silvia says the pastry is similar to pizza but is not entirely the same, you can see the diference.
they are delicious:D:D:D
