Lost

Withdrawel started kicking in.

Anyone know when it's back (other than "in the spring")?

:)

The second season has started in NZ. We're onto the fourth episode, or thereabouts.

There's more horrific plane crash action!

i'm too impatient and couldn't wait, so i read the episode guides for the next 10 episodes. looks very good! (although anything would be an improvement on that turkey of an ending to the 1st season):?

I couldn't wait either so I have downloads of Season 2 Episodes 1 - 14. There are very interesting!!

it will be whenevet Desperate Housewives finishes, which is on number 10 of 23 episodes, so....13 weeks. I have already seen about the first 9 of season 2 of Lost, it's very good, but they keep having breaks in episodes for some reason.

I've heard a whisper that Channel 4 are going for a ratings bonanza, by having the Big Brother opening night, and LOST season 2 episode 1 one after the other. Don't count it out, and if it does happen then you're probably looking at late May ;)

The good doctor is a kiwi Drew.

Correct! I'm eating mum's cooking and hanging with the rellies.

Crikey! You beauty! Strewth! Good on ya! (etc)

And btw a kiwi was a bird before it was a fruit.

True indeed, good doctor. The fruit was originally called (and still is sometimes) the Chinese gooseberry. When it got imported to New Zealand they renamed it after that bird, mainly as a marketing ploy!

Your knowledge of antipodean agricultural history is impressive.

you sound like you've had to tell that one more than a few times doc;)
Yes I have. For some reason some people (mainly Germans) think it's hilarious that a nickname for a New Zealander is the same as that of the brown furry comestible.

Two more random facts:

1) Kiwis (the bird) are so rare and considered so important that there is program underway to vaccinate them from bird flu.

2) As part of yet another marketing ploy the kiwifruit board has renamed the kiwi. It is now to be known as the zespri.

Now I just have to sit back and wait for those after dinner speaking engagements to roll in.

Back on topic, Lost in two days. Yay!

is zespri not the golden version?

No, apparently that's "zespri gold". I've never tried one. Can we get an opinion from someone who has?

According to enzed.com "the new name Zespri has been tested in Japan, Germany, France, Britain, and Taiwan and is said to suggest such concepts as vitality to consumers".

The "zespri gold" or the yellow kiwi as I call it ;) is one of the best fruits ever!!
I usually eat about 6-7 in one go. Sweet!
