Liverpool V Chelsea

Are we talking about this particular match, or in general?

In Drogba's defense, at this particular game at Anfield, he popped right back up every time he fell down (I was, to be honest, surprised). There was just once that I remember, where he took an honest kick to the leg, that he stayed down for a minute.

Robben didn't have time to dive in this match. Joe Cole fell down only under contact but that throwing his arms in the air drives me nuts.

And what about Pennant? He won a free kick when he was already a half-yard past the challenge. You could see him digging his toes into the ground so as to look like he was tripped.

both i suppose.

he didn't john, he just didn't. at least 3 or 4 times he went down holding his head with the usual "OMG is it bleeding" bollox. each time it took a stoppage or a get up you fanny from the ref or us attacking to get him up.

robben is a serial offender. joe cole is the worst and i've told you this before. i played against him many times as a kid and he was the most gifted player of my age, every player to a certain standard knew who joey cole was. he hated diving players with a passion then. the throwing himself about has only kicked in since jose's been there. sad state of affairs.

we have people who go down easily/dive, stevie G, pennant even carra did a joey cole hands in the air on tuesday. but none are serial offenders and none i think go out with that cheating element in mind, cos thats ultimately what it is.

on contact, cole and drogba try to con the ref nearly every time. that is cheating.

I won't argue with you on the broader point, as I'm not always please with their conduct.

But I will say that in this match I didn't feel their conduct was poor, nor did they cheat the way Pennant did.
