If buckley was here i'm sure he'd have a word or two to say about the proposed abolishment of limbo. If you havent already seen:

One Pope quote that particularly interested me is “Personally, I would let it drop, since it has always been only a theological hypothesis.”

Surely one might argue that the majority of the church is based on theological hypothesis and interpretation of the bible?

what about the millions of people that have apparently gone to limbo already?
do they get a reallocation?


most if not all organised religions are ludicrous IMO

I'm sure it will cause alot of families distress if they believe their infant is in limbo and suddenly it appears they are going to hell. It may encourage some people to reconsider their belief system.
 
It may be down to the cost`s in maintaining it , think of the health and safety implications of all those young soul`s in one place !!! :lol:

I just love how easy it is? a 900year old "tradition" and the pope just says, actually....it doesn;t exist, sorry for the inconvenience. I feel sorry for all those poor sods who have spent £1000's on christenings, just to avoid the little blighters going to limbo all for nothing? can they claim their money back?

but what if you get into heaven and all your 'loved ones' are there.

what if they thought you were a c0ck or vice versa?

are you forced upon each other?

It does serve a purpose though, it gives the weaker and less happy in society a bit of hope. nothing wrong with that as a concept in isolation is there? not everyone is the go getting uberconfident professional spotlight archetype.

its just a shame its based on rubbish and is used as an excuse to kill and hate others. why cant everything be simple.:cry:
 
also dont like the chopping and changing of liberal religion as highlighted by the 'abolishment' of elements. as far as i can see you either believe or you dont, you cant just say 'oh actually gay people are ok' because you realise this is how the mainstream thinks. think dawkins says something like (so pleased i read his god delusion book) that he would rather argue with a sincere fundamentalist than a pussy footing liberal. or something like that you get the point!
