Life and Death @ DC10

liked l&d closing lots! tennis & mano kept it quite cool (but great music) and TOU were really good last night. the week before I found their set mediocre, but yesterday they were on fine form.

as for sven at enter, I only stayed for his first hour, but he played lots of tunes he's been playing all summer, so not a huge difference to his amnesia sets. a few of the tracks are mentioned in the review on the main site. a super energetic moment was when he dropped makam's a night at trouw.
 
One hell of a party overall for the L&D closing. I thought Tennis played a little bit harder at least than I expected room was pretty empty for first half of his set but thoroughly enjoyed it. Mano I thought was fine but took a bit of a rest outside during his set and start of Tale of Us was just jammed but thought it was the best set I've heard from them yet and stayed until right near to the end. First half hour of tale of us was simply massive.
 
Saw TOU close SW4 Sunday in the Maya Jane Coles & Friends tent, and they were as good as I've ever seen them. Fantastic end to a bank hol weekend. No concerns here that they've "lost it."

Also caught 10mins of Mano Le Tough earlier in the day. Obviously that's not long enough to make a fair judgement, but we left because of how disappointed we were. Playing some low tempo ambient dross. Not v.inspiring. Tent was a 1/4 full with no atmosphere. Can't help but feel it should have been notched up a bit.
