theres stuff that has come close but not quite to the same sort of standard.

No disrespect to Junior Jack, but some people really are trying to push Stupidisco into anthem-dom without a solid basis for super-popularity. Good song, but not anthem-quality.
With all deference to the 'At Night'-led 2002 crop, I thought 2001 was a good anthem year: 'Another Chance', 'Finally', 'Starlight', 'Rapture'... what else? I forget....
