Legal drinking age?

Am i right in thinking you have to be 16 to drink in Ibiza? although im not sure whether that applies to all the major clubs etc! can somebody please help because one of my mates is only 17 and we are off to ibeeeeeeeeeeeefa tommorow night from Manchester airport!
