LCD TV's

Well its like anything you pay for what you get. A bush tv will look ok but if you pay a bit more for a sony the picture will be a lot better

Robbie is absolutely right, a large extent you get what you pay for.
What you pay for the same thing is a different matter. IMO Costco is the cheapest place to buy if you are or know a member. They stock only the big brands and give you a lifetime warranty:)

The technologies are different and usualy the bigger brands will use the latest components which are coming out of their R & D labs. The cheaper makes tend to use older generation and therefore cheaper components.

I am lucky enough to have a 50" Pioneer Plasma in my lounge and I have yet to see a better picture, especially in HD.I know a few friends with similar sized sets but not as good pictures and thats generally because they bought cheaper makes and perhaps less expensive interconnects.

It might be worth looking at Richer sounds who tend to sell last years models at a drastically reduced price.IMO better to get a good make in last years model than an unknown from Argos,Asda, etc.
