last minute holidays

i was just wondering if anybody here has booked there holiday last minute before, im planning on doing that this year, and was just wondering whether people thought it was a good idea and how much i could look to pay in august?

I always book less than a week before I go, but then I'v always decided right at the last minute that I want to go.

You can get some sillily cheap deals through the tour operators.

I paid £140 for a week in september staying in PDB last year.
 
Very risky... you probably could get a last minute deal for August, but there's no guarantee where it will be, what the hotel will be like, the hotel ameneties etc. You could end up in a right dump miles away from the clubs/bars etc. If you're not bothered where you stay then last minute is the thing for you, if you know specifically where you want to go then I'd advise to book now.
 
I can never seem to get a cheap last minute holiday, the price always seems to crep up no matter what.

Think its because we go from Scotland, so don't have all the good deals available to London folk :evil:
