Larsson and Barca!

Eto'o was offside or whatever but Arsenal scored thanks a non existing fault and one of his players diving :?

And he is supposed to play here next year:roll:

come the World Cup it'll all be forgotten!

I can't say I disagree with a lot of what he is saying though. Barca were a bit dirty (sil before you attack me, Im more of a Barca fan than I am an Arsenal fan).

He should have kept his mouth shut though - doesn't do anybody any good to mouth off like that in front of millions though. Just looks bad.

worst tackle of the night was eboue's GBH on gio
worst dive of the night was eboue's belly flop after puyol ran in front of him

I thot wot Henry said was spot on. He wasnt critisising players he was simply pointing out Ron and Eto'o had an off day and Larsson should take the plaudits! His critisisms of the ref we justified aswell as he could have played advantage barca and he was woeful! Saying that, in simple terms, if Henry had converted his 2 clear cut chances then good nite vienna!

Henrik has proved once again what a world class player he is. Regular scorer at World Cups and Euro championships since USA 94, Golden Boot Winner, Uefa Finalist and now Champions League Winner. Long live the king!

I respect your views, but its unheard of that when a player loses a match he points out players from the other team that didnt show up, irrespective if its true or not... to me he's half saying.. "i think I played like s***t, but hey atleast so did these others on the other team"

It sounds really really bad and doesnt do him any favours either... Also when he points out Etoo, who actually put away his chance and hit the post, plus won man of the match!!!

His comments have dented my admiration of a very talented player.

oh yeah, quick review:

Overall it was probably one of the best nights of my life. 8) Im glad I didnt sell my ticket for £2000 which they were offering.8O

There was generally no trouble, even if some of the Arsenal fans tried their upmost to provoke it. I dont understand why large sections of the Arsenal fans decided on spending all the wednesday getting tanked up in bars and not sampling the atmosphere and all the attractions which the french and Uefa had set up. Walking round the Eifel tower it seemd like it was only the barca fans which showed up. There must have been 10,000 thousand barca fans with fireworks, flares and scarfs singing and jumping for hours.. it was a great sight.. 8)
Aside from this if any poor Barca fan happened walk past any terrace full of drunk Arsenal fans they'd be forced to endure all sorts of aggresive abuse. Typical scene would be four or five morons running to a couple of barca fans' face and shouting that annoying "who are ya!!" chant.. yeah, very macho of them :?

Not going to say it was all Arsenal fans who were like that because there were other ocassions where both set of fans were swapping scarfs and stuff, and having good banter 8)

Would like to hear what Morbyd thinks?? Maybe its just a cultural thing.

As for the crowd in the stadium, I honestly believe we out sang them for most parts of the game, certainly at the start. Again maybe because some of the arsenal fans were still finishing their pints.

Ferdinand pls pls pls....:spank: yes I agree English fans can be a strange lot at times and I saw a few 'minor' arguments/mexican stand off's of the 'Hold me back...i'm gonna do him...i'm gonna do him...no hold me back' variety i.e. the tw*t had no intention of doing anything......but most of what I saw was good natured friendly banter.

I also saw a few Barca fans having an unprovoked pop at some of our boys...simply because there was hundreds of them and very few Arsenal...usual story basically.

Your post does nothing for Anglo/Spanish relations Ferdinand.

You do only have one song though.

Sorry, it may have come across differently to how i intended, it was just that I was standing next to the incident with the drunk Arsenal fans and that really annoyed me. Im sure there are similar yobs in the Barca end, but the point im trying to make is that there clearly is a diiferent way of enjyoing these occasions. Dont you agree?

Even if the twat had no intention of doing anything. Its just not a nice thing to do.

as for the Anglo Spain relations i dont think this has anything to do with it. Ive seen lots of english people here have a go at the yob- culture which descends on the west end in Ibiza in the summer for example and this is just a part of it too I guess. I know this only represents less than 5% of the population but unfortunately its these that seem to attract the attention.:(

I happily critisise large sections of the spanish rascist twats that go to some football stadiums too.

i think it can vary between teams as well.....................e.g. west ham v liverpool (there was never ever gonna be any trouble)...............and like LFC in europe, european football for liverpool and liverpool fans is like a second home, all the fans have travelled throughout europe for so many years, they really know how to enjoy the atmosphere 'the right way', like you say ferd. of course even our record is not spotless.
