LA DIOSA opening!!

according to the latest rumours the argentinian guys who have been renting la diosa during the last two years want to buy the place and, apparently, they have been negotiating with various banks already (some sources said that they are trying to get a credit of 6.000.000€ 8O ). this is something totally unexpected for the neighbors because after all the protests to the council for not having the right licenses they were expecting the closure of the club, specially after the mediocre season they had this summer (lets remember than during the last 5 weeks it was open only on friday, saturday and sunday :roll: ) and after the constant rumors of insolvency :!:

we will see what happens..........
 
and after some confusing rumours here is some info appeared last week on the 3 local newspapers:

bartolomé escandell guasch (also owner of gala night) denounced to the guys of la diosa, who didn't even go to the court, for not paying the rent since 2003!! :roll:

the owner of the old barbacoa santa gertrudis announced that he wants the place to be again a restaurant with shows, live music, etc like it has been since 1971!! :idea:

The legal procedures started by the neighbours in Santa Gertrudis, who claim the restaurant come disco "La Diosa" is causing noise, traffic & other problems in the area, received a push this week. The Judges in Palma have accepted an appeal by the neighbours against an earlier court ruling, which means they are a step closer to getting the licenses of the disco rescinded. The neighbours claim that the disco cannot comply with the strict conditions needed to operate as a disco & that the Town Council in Santa Eulària were wrong to issue La Diosa an opening license. The neighbours are also fighting the case in the civil courts as well as in the judicial courts now this new ruling has been issued.

although it has been confirmed that la diosa is no more the neighbours already have a second recurso contencioso administrativo against the santa eulalia council, for their silence when everybody knew that la diosa never had the conditions needed to operate as a club and to make sure that the old barbacoa never opens again as a club-camouflaged-as-a-restaurant.........

Goddess Still Upsetting the Neighbours.
The Disco "La Diosa" (The Goddess) in Santa Gertrudis is seemingly still the centre of a controversy between the neighbours & the Town Hall in Santa Eulària which is responsible for granting the licences for this entertainment complex. Last week the neighbourhood association presented another official complaint in the courts. They claimed that the Town Hall had not acted within the required legal time frame to their first official judicial complaints about the disco being changed from a BBQ Restaurant to a restaurant, night club & disco without fully meeting the licensing requirements for such activities. The neighbours even went on to claim that the inactivity by the Town Hall in Santa Eulària over their complaints about "La Diosa" even meant that they couldn't get the required certificate they needed from the Town Hall. This would prove that the Town Hall had taken no action since the neighbours made their first legal complaint last September. Now the neighbours are hoping that the courts will find in their favour & force the Town Hall to act over this disco which they are so upset about.
