The date:
Sunday May 30, from midnight
The location:
Zenith @ La Diosa, Ctra. Santa Gertrudis- San Miguel Km 4,5
The lineup:
Er, there isn’t one yet but it’s not an issue ‘cos with these guys you know it’s gonna be underground and loud enough to knock you down.
The sketch:
If you’re into décor some venues in Ibiza can leave visitors a little underwhelmed. Nowhere outside the West End of San Antonio is particularly skanky but few buildings make the impression like the initial visit to La Diosa. The lighting is downright seductive, architectural lines are clean and long, and the design motifs are beautifully simple. A repeating echo of purple curves borders the carpark, inside a field of spotless white beds stretches on invitingly for the horizontally inclined, and above the lack of any physical covering creates the most spectacular effect of all. The music is definitely not f***ing funky house however, the Zenith boys aren’t about to take advantage of the receptive state of their thousands of fans by foisting cheese onto them. Their Sunday night opening party will surely be amongst the highlights of the several day’s worth of after events, including Roberto and Ernesto’s gig the following night at Kiss. Yes, you read that right, the club with the cheap’n’nastiest poster campaign of the modern Ibiza era. It’s so bad most people haven’t even been inside. Well do, because it’s actually really nice and filling the void left by the closure of Pinup, which will not be open in 2004.
