the bar/restaurant km5 on the road to san josé reopens, as usual, the last friday of this month (april 29th). open every night till early october :!:

km5 is in the news today because, once again, they havent got the cafe-concierto license they have been asking for a long time. they first applied to get that license to the san josé council in 2000 and it was turned down. later to the comisión insular de urbanismo and it was turned down again. and finally to the tribunal superior de justicia de baleares which said NO and also considered all the denuncias from the neighbors against the bar, which denounced that it was operating as a cafe-concierto "clandestinely" :!:

now they have the bar-restaurante license. getting the cafe-concierto license would mean a legal cappacity for 72 persons (instead of 24) and being able to have all the music they want till 6am (instead of till midnight). not getting it will mean more denuncias from the neighbors and that the chances of having problems with the authorities, like last summer, still exist...........



in more positive news, km5 will once again organize ACTION PAINTING (every 2 weeks from may to september) and will be hosting FASHION SHOWS, the COLOURS PARTIES plus the GOING BACK IN TIME PARTIES (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s). dates will be confirmed soon!! :idea:

But we are KM5, we love long hot summers and we are keeping our promise to entertain you with quality happenings all summer long!

First of all we have the return "ACTION PAINTING" nights and of the super "COLORS" parties.

In the KM5 Gallery we are showing works of ARIEL GELIDA, LEELU MORRIS, MARTIN TRAVERSO, FABIO PALUMBO and OLIVIER MOURAO.

We organizing fashion shows with "COLCCI BRASIL" and "ECHOAMANO IBIZA" (more to be confirmed) and

last but not least we will be celebrating our 11th birthday on Friday the 1st of July!!

KM5, a beautiful Bedouin style oasis nestled in the hills about five kilometres outside of Ibiza town on the road to San José. KM5 is an enchanting garden and a totally Balearic experience with Arabic-style tapestry tents (haimas), sofas, candles and colourful pillows sprawled about for the lounging pleasure of its guests.

KM5, now hosted by Josch, Ana and Belgium's own Patrick Soks (famous for his legendary Paradise Parties @ Café D’anvers during the early nineties), is the perfect escape from the craziness of Ibiza’s pounding club culture.
