KM5 is a rip-off

-the service is pretty rubbish. the waiting staff are all very nice, but take hours to bring your food/clear the table. Last year they lost our entire booking and we had to wait nearly 2 hours for a table  For this reason I'm not sure if I would go again.

And the food was clock-cold, wasn't it!

Maybe i aim too high sometimes, but IMO KM5 is extremely overrated - will never go there again.

i love that place, one of the last authentic places...who cares about the food...

Authentic?

Agree with vienna, it's one of the eldest in the business, a classic like Café del Mar. Now, it you like it or not is another thing

I didn't realise that and to be honest, I'm surprised.

It just seemed new and as though they'd only just latched onto the idea, complete with tacky souvenir shop so you can purchase a t-shirt to let all your pals know you went to KM5 and spent a fortune on a vaguely-described menu.

For a very newbie, cafe del mar would look like a new thing aswell ;)

No it's not a recent thing, as I said earlier in thread it was only about 4 years ago that the menu was translated into English, it was always a very local place, it's only in the last couple of years that it's got more popular with holidaymakers, me and Tom used to go and be the only non-Spanish people there.

I still love the place to bits, I have probably eaten there more than anywhere else on the island and never ever had a bad meal, guess I've just been lucky :D
