Kilimanjaro

Come with us!!

We're looking at arriving on Thursday, March 8 (beginning of bank holiday weekend here for Int'l Women's Day), beginning the climb on March 9 and then heading to Zanzibar for the weekend on the following Thursday or Friday (depending on which climb itinerary we end up with)

I like the idea of rendezvouz-ing on/in (;)) Zanzibar - my mate went threre for his honeymoon - absolutely stunning!!!

I've been so focused on the mountain I haven't even bothered to look up what I'm supposed to do when we get to Zanzibar  There is apparently a somewhat entertaining open air disco next to our hotel. I have a feeling we'll just end up drinking ourselves silly there

that's the bit of the whole "climbing" trip I think I could do... :D:D:D

Thanks for the support, folks.

Who's up for Elbrus in August?

congratulations, big achievement!

How come there's snow in the back ground, but not on the rocks around the summit post?

All filmed on a sound stage?

Honestly, not sure. It was like that along the whole crater rim. Snow on one side and rocks on the other. I think it's just from people trampling the snow and maybe how the sunlight falls? I was told it'll all be covered by snow soon as the rainy season starts in a week or two and lasts until June.

Thanks everyone :D

Can you write up a review of your adventure? Lesson learned and things to do/avoid?

I had my little laptop with me and wrote a journal as we climbed.
I could post parts after I clean it up a bit.

Great achievement - 8) :). Go on, post the journal .. 'director's cut' is what we're after .
