Kids before marriage??

me & mrs jj were talking about getting engaged/married starting a family
et al. But it's all bloody so expensive??

Does it matter to have kids these days and not be married??
 
I don't know in the UK but here in Spain is better to get married if you have kids for some tax benefits and all that.

Probably that having kids before marriage is fine as long as you get your breath back before you conduct the service and offer the young fella in question half the collection plate to keep it on the qt. :lol:

it doesnt to me at all, but then you have to consider the feeling of your parents. Ok you could say it's not their business, some people are funny about that kind of thing?? would akid growing up feel more secure if mum dad were hitched??

Doesn't need to cost much to get married .......... apparently!

We said if we had a kid outside wedlock 'it' would have my surname, which would be good for the schooling etc.

As Leeeeeeese said, we'd probably tie the knot sometime later on.

yeah but theres getting married and there's "GETTING MARRIED". I would rather fook off somewhere, get it done, then just have a wicked party after, however mrs jj has other ideas, she wants the castle in Ireland et al, which will cost tens of thousands!!

but hey, why do I care...her old boys paying!!!! Isnt he??? :?
 
I don't see the problem with having kids and not being married. I don't see that getting married and kids go hand in hand anyway. Personally I'm married, but having kids was not part of the decision, and they'll not be a part of it for at least another 5 years (by which point we'll have been married ten and together 15). However, if I were to have children, I'd rather do it within wedlock. Personal preference. Would just feel more secure. And getting married doesn't need to cost a fortune.
 
I don't think it makes any difference- I know lot of people who have had kids without getting married, and it really doesn't make any difference.

Having said that I want to be married before I have children. I can't explain why though. Think I'm a bit old fashioned deep down :lol: :?

Good job my other half would prefer a no-fuss affair, which is a bonus cos her old boy's no longer with us (bless his soul)

i think I would rather be married, given the choice, just wondering if it's gonna be possible/practical?
Im 35, she's 32, just bought the house which is taking all our money at the mo, I want to do my swansong in Ibiza next year, then have kids at end of next year, just dont thing i'll have time or money to do it all :(
