....anybody know him at all?

Reason being that my best friend has just been asked to work directly with him in ibiza, he flew out last night. i'm guessing its to work on El Divino but i was thinking a man like that probably owns half the island.

hello to any old faces on here by the way (buckley etc)...i haven't been on here in about a year!

Khaled - I've only met him twice and that went as far as a handshake and a 'nice to meet you'.

Would imagine he has all sorts of interests. El Div's Thai Restaurant is now a brothel. Maybe your mate is working there?:lol: (Although I don't know if they still own it)

His name is Mohamed and originally from Kuwait and he is ex. Air Force Pilot in the Kuwaity Air Force.

And he hates Smokers :D

Which would explain why he now either a) sends them outside on the terrace or b) banishes them to the glass-enclosed VIP area!

Some will say El Div is ahead of it's time.... others of us were quite pissed off when they went there last month!
 
Buckley mate - Sam and i are VERY well.....all the more so because we just had a daughter, Sophie :) i will send your regards. Hope you guys are healthy etc.

Thanks for the interesting info on Khaled...thats VERY funny he used to be a pilot, my friend didnt' know that - they will definitely get on because Adrian used to be an RAF captain until v recently!

Whatever he does out there this season i know he's got his work cut out! still jealous though...i'm sat here in my bloody clerkenwell office!
 
out of interest how do such jobs get dished out?

I dont know if i could take the lack of security etc with working in the creative industries & i am sure anna would have a lot to say about it, but like lots of people I am pretty damn as good as it gets at my job, yet as I am not connected they miss out on my skills....and I miss out on what would be an interesting environment to work in.

how do they make sure they get the talent in areas like project management, commercial management etc?

As with most things, you are quite right: its about who you know and a bit of luck.

That said my friend Adrian didn't ask for this role...rather he was put forward for it by a friend he's been working with - somebody who has been in the club industry for years and years. he's good at what he does and really works his arse off so I'm chuffed for him....the good thing is that he's not impressed by so called "club celebrities" and he's only looking at it from a commercial/production angle - to be honest his knowledge of music isn't even that deep so it gives him a very impartial edge.

Anyway - he just texted me from Khaleds villa - his words were "****ing amazing".... 8O8) i bet it is :)

sadly i cant get out there this year, bummer.

thanks though, her name is Sophie :) over the moon to be honest. its obviously the reason i haven't been on here much or indeed doing much club related anythign really...(secretly i am missing my ibiza this year though).

Aaaaaaaargh!!!!! i can't beleive you remembered that haha - that was the strangest thing you know. you were the ONLY person to have ever said that to me....then somebody else mentionned it on the same holiday and nobody since then or before then has ever said it! wierd.

deffo keep in touch, will call you if we ever manage a night out (not really sure if that will be anytime soon though!) i must also keep in touch with Sheffield Andy!

Doubt it very much, no smoking in the club. So generally give it a wide berth now. (haven't played there since '05)

But good luck to him, Khaled's always been a really top bloke whenever I've chatted to him :D:D:D
