Keinemusik in London

Looks like they are back in London on August 11th.

And by the look of things they've out grown the Shoreditch street party venue and will be playing at Victoria park which makes sense.

Might be tempted as the sound there is quite good through-out so there's no need to push yourself right to the front.

That is usually the weekend that Solomun does Finsbury Park I think?

Re. Sound. For a UK outdoor venue it is pretty good to be fair.

Is it not Finsbury Park?

Yeah, that's right.

This is a Sunday, so he might still do the saturday, although recently they've had Fourtet and others play too.

I seem to remember they'd have Anjunadeep a few Sundays before

Did anyone else get tickets?

So I bit the bullet and got them, but prices were very steep. £80 for general any time, that's pretty outrageous.

Just checked when I saw them play in The Loft before Covid, it was £20 in a much more intimate place.. those were the days 😂

Got a few tix for it, paid £80 also. How long you reckon KM are on for, few hours or more ? Trying to suss out what flights to get down to London

Not sure, they must play for at least 4 hours I think. With the event finishing at 21.30 I'd probably be there for 5pm to be safe.
Not 100% though as I've not seen them do this type of show for a very long time. There doesnt appear to be any other DJ's but im sure they'll be added to the line up.

Not sure if anyone else went to Finsbury Park, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised, maybe my expectations were set quite low

After all the recent instagram posts of their shows I was prepared for 4.5 hours of very vocal / commercial afro-house, which it wasn't (totally). I mean a lot of it was. They played their hits like Dua Lipa and Thandaza and added their usual old school commercial garage hits... BUT this was mixed with more bassy driven tracks and lots of stuff I've not heard off. Including a few new uplifting piano type tracks, similar to Rapture

Of course still not close to the sort of sets I saw of them pre-covid which was their pinnacle for me but an enjoyable day.

Also as we danced quite far back from the stage we avoided all the phones being out so had people actually dancing around me, always a plus

I didn't get to go. Nice to read that though, from the groups im in it sounded very much like the KM of 2024. AKA Adam Port and his dubious selections - The Craig David drop looked awful!

The wave behind them at the moment though, is crazy and i cannot see it slowing down any time soon!

Was there and have seen them a number of times this year and previous years. Good vibe, cool venue in the sun so can’t complain. Musically have seen them better but it was a fairly different set to what they have been playing this year, a lot of different tracks I’ve not heard them play yet this year which was refreshing. Of course some of the usual stuff still within and some questionable ones but can’t grumble with them changing things up a little. Just wish they’d play more of their own (older) stuff sometimes that doesn’t surface in their sets much anymore.

Agree 100%

I was begging for them to drop their older stuff, but then would their new fans even know of (or enjoy) those old tracks they've done? Not sure. We were convinced they'd drop either What To Do or even Muye. No such luck 😭

Like you say, great day in the blazing sun, thank god for the shade under the trees though.

I think for future events, unless I know they are definitely going a bit back to their roots, not sure I'd fork out another £80 for the privilege.

Also on Alan Dixon , he's obviously also caught the afro house virus. Which is fine but I was hoping more of his old stuff too, that driving disco sound, and he did play a little more of that towards the last bit of his set, but far too little.
