LinksManager Helps Katrina Survivors - Please Help Us Spread The Word! - September 3, 2005

LinksManager is helping hurricane Katrina survivors with http://hurricanehousingsearch.org, a free non-profit directory - powered completely by LinksManager. We need your help! Please send an email to your friends, family, and colleagues asking them to help spread the word announcing this site. The site allows homeowners to offer housing to the hundreds of thousands of Katrina survivors who are now homeless. Thank you very much for your support with the hurricane relief effort.

Cool idea.

This past 2 weeks, I've watched the foreign press make the States look bad by focussing on what went wrong in New Orleans, but there's so little coverage in the foriegn media about what has gone well.... tons of stories of people helping people, like this project.

I saw one story about a guy who offered to take in up to 3 homeless people in his ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENT!

Totally agree with you Morbyd. Even our media is criticizing what went wrong...Dateline, 60 Minutes...all those shows now have specials, 'Katrina: What Went Wrong?"

I have seen so many people helping people. For example, my father-in-law took a school bus to LA, dropped off supplies for people still there, picked up a bus load full of homeless people, and is now providing food & shelter for them at his private school.

just a cheeky reply to get this one back into the spotlight... Seeing as it'll probably be a wee bit busier here now than when i originally posted
