Kasbah - another one bites the dust!

What annoys me is the large number of places competing to sell you 'The best English Breakfast' ! .. but never mind.

mmmmmmmmmmmm Fatso's - design your own breakfast!!

i recommend - meatballs, deep fried chicken wings, octopus fry up, patatas povres (ibicenco chips) and a nice rioja - about €20 for two (including bread, alioli and olives, beer and coffee)

I love meatballs.... and I think you meant patatas pobres ;)

The trouble is, you tend to go to places you know of, heard of, recommended by people or have seen advertised. These tend to be your 'Kasbahs' & 'Mambos' especially if you haven't been there before.
yes, the type of clubber-friendly "restaurants" that appear recommended in those british mags and that will remain closed during the next 8 months because the owners know perfectly that locals are not so stupid to go to those overpriced crappy places..........

thank god our favourite restaurants stay open all or almost all the year:

surprised by the bad press kasbah has got on here. went for the 1st time this year as we normally go to savannah and mambo and decided to try coastline and kasbah this year. was really dissapointed by coastline but thought kasbah was great.

i agree it was a bit pricey but i thought it didnt seem as much of a sunset bar as the rest of them. i thought it felt more like an actual restuarant than sunset bar. the food was more like a proper menu than the snacky crap u get in mambo etc. and was much nicer as well. thought the service was excellent and the surroundings were really nice. i was actually pissed off we had waited until the last night to go as i would prob have went more often. the only downside was the daft step as you come out the toilets which i kept forgetting was there

prob get shot down in flames for this but too many people on here will let the fact that JJ owns the joint now and that all the staff were wearing Judgement Sunday t-shirts tar their opinion of what is a nice relaxing place to enjoy a meal.

Yer - was the first time we went this year, and although it was pricey, I didnt think it was all that bad. The service was not too bad either. Not excellent but not as bad as some of you seem to have experienced.

They werent wearing Jusgement Sunday T Shirts when I was there and anyway, I would let the Judge JUles thing cloud my judgement.

I understand there are nice local places to eat, which I also visit. Maybe I should avoid these sort of places? Saying that, nothing comes near to Il Vaticano for all round food, service and price.

Ps. I eventually found the Croissant Show this year and enjoyed a couple of lunch snacks there. Their Spinach Quiche and chocolate crosissants were out of this world! ;)

Went to Kasbah many times this year and had nothing but great times there. Great food, good people, awesome atmosphere... too bad you didn't enjoy it.

Fresh Haggis

Just had two fresh delivered from Dunblane, butchers in their high street. One gone in the freezer to take to IBZ Saturday.

Dunblane butchers does a mean square sausage too....

Does Pappa's still do Haggis Supper & Ostrich Burgers.....??

My Favourite...!!!

Golden rule of thumb wherever in the world you are: If the locals eat there chances are it's a quality place to eat. Doesn't matter if it's English, Chinese, Indian, whatever. If you're in Ibiza and Spanish-speaking people are in there give it a go- I doubt you'll be disappointed. I had the best Chinese meal ever in a 'blink & you'll miss it' cellar restaurant in Chinatown in Manchester. We were looking for somewhere to eat and were considering all these places with flashy neon signs and gorgeous decor when I just happened to look down and see the place choc-full of Oriental people - went in and the rest as they say is history. Same anywhere else.
