to me...muzik is muzik...all u ppl r sayin JJ is cheese and he oversamples his choons and borrows from this genre...this and that...whatever. Listen, music is a form of expression, now ALL music is influenced by other types of music...like hip hop & r&b draw from soul/jazz/blues music. Now u can sit here all u want and tell me that JJ takes stuff from french house...or he sampled this tune and that tune...but ALL music is drawn from some source or another. Thats what music is...its a melting pot of sounds...whether they may be sounds used in a certain type of music or not is beyond the point. The POINT is that this dude has an idea in his head of what he wants a track to sound like...and he went out and made it using sounds from different genres of music. THAT is NOT cheese. That is creativity...now, if ALL his songs sounded similar...like esamba sounds like dahype and stupidisco...then THAT would be cheese. Now u all will be sayin...how is it creative using someone elses sounds? Well, its using someone elses sounds to make a whole NEW sound (and he doesnt do it for EVERY song like pdiddy...heh)...and THATS what matters. Like him or not...the dude is puttin together some MAD beats...and i dig that.

p.p.s if u listened to fat boy slims records...the majority of the tracks r sampled. He even reworks samples BACKWARDS to make a whole new sound...i dont hear ANYONE layin smack down about him. And he's been sued over and over for usin other ppls sounds wifout permission as well.
