I dont want to offend any fans, but how is this guy so big? All the DJ's i hear in mainstreem / cheesy clubs can do exactly what he does!!!!

am I missing something here? Is this guy just lucky? 8O

No, he draws more attention to himself by looking like a fool!!

when i was on the way to ibiza he had a mix playing on the headphones and i heard him speaking..........he also sounds like a fool!!! haha

unless it was someone else speaking for him!! but i think it was him!

i did like him then he played in my towns local club ( which is a s hole so i dont know why he was here in the first place) and it was nothing special apart from everything was double the price. Was very disappointed. :(

such a lucky guy!! an average dj who mixes chart music half the time.....

thousands of people can do this!! and thousands of people are better! but he gets to travel round the world!

judge jules hasnt just appeared tho. he may be a pretty poor dj, but luckily for him he was about and doing it at the right time.

i have seen loads of really good sets off him aswell over the years in crasher.

now his style is the cheesier side of trance, commercial house and the more obvious techno tunes, that is bound to be popular with ppl that arent that into clubbing as it is the more accessible side of the music.

I dont like him really. He plays commercial stuf in general, and he doesnt seem the nicest of DJs to be honest.

When i saw him play, he seemed very arrogant, didnt wana look at all the peeps wavin at him (God knows why!) etc. Eddie Halliwell came on after him, and made him look like an amateur! Such a better DJ in everyway.

judge jules sux...he was supposed to play hear a cpl weeks back...his plane got delayed in london and he didnt show up. Kinda glad...2 local boys David Stone, and Neal K filled in admirabely, and i reckon that their set would have been been better than his set...heh

?

He's been around for ages.

He was originally a law student when he got involved in warehouse parties held by the likes of Norman Jay with the Good Times Roadshow and Shake and Finger Pop.

Story goes that when the Police used to arrive to shut them down, Jules stepped in and used his knowledge of law to sort them out.

That's why he's called Judge Jules.

Originally he was really well respected and used to play good stuff, even if he did talk like a complete pratt.

He lost all credibility a long time ago and now I guess plays for the cash, anywhere, any time.

well no wonder he can play anytime in Eden, the guy apparently owns the place with some peeps. corret me if im mistaken, got this from a dj magazine once

correct - in fact is that the first piece of correct data you have told us? 8)

I actually had quite a good conversation with him before Xmas before a gig for M8 magazine up in Scotland and I must say rightly or wrongly he is actually a nice fella and knew what he was talking about. He enjoys his work and can we all really be so small minded that we slate him off for that. Basically he gets clubbers into clubs. (Maybe not necessarily experienced club veterans or likewise - but people who will spend money and that's how the clubs view it so he'll always get the work). You can also say that he's in this position because he works for Radio 1, but to get there you need to put in years of serious graft. He knows his music and we spoke about early electro - a subject to can't actually engage in with alot of dj's (he even remembers ET Boogie - which most of you probably won't, but the ones that do will). So I'm sure you can hate his sets if you hear him have a bad night once in a while and you can slate him for that (but can any of you seriously tell me you do your own jobs 100% efficiently ALL the time????). Basically don't slate the fella, if you don't like what he does don't go to any events he's working at. We're all big enough and grown up enough not to slate off someone because they're successful. House is about unity not slating those who's musical tastes are different from our own.

Spot on.

Jules seems to be the one dj people love to have a go at. Personally, I was a big fan 4 or 5 years ago (when trance was good !!!) and Jules was at his prime.
It isn't my bag these days, but you can't deny the fact the guy has been a pivotal figure in the dance scene for well over a decade and is an ambassador for dance music.

Although Matt, what WAS he wearing at that M8 party?!
He came in full sports gear, tracky bottoms, the lot !
All he needed was the Burberry cap and he'd have been made an honoury citizen of Glasgow !
:)
