1.30 am in the Box.

Not fair I want to go, but I'm not allowed out on Saturdays til Derrick Carter the following week

I'd rather have John Carter. I have fond memories of his sets at Heavenly Social. When I last saw Derrick Carter at the End in October his tune selection was pretty dull and his mixing was decidedly lazy. Rob Mello played a blinder in the other room that night.

Both my Carter boys rock imo, I was there last time Delboy played at The End and I agree it wasn't one of better sets but most of the time is the Daddy of all things Boompety Boomp :D

Ministry might be a good intro to clubbing for her cos the Box is going to be dirtier house but the Bar is more funky and less full-on.

Reckon this could be a goer, would go to Renaissance but it finishes at 6am, later to hanging round for trains and much later to Kings cross.

& certainly sack off Claudio coconut @ the End and 'Extreme Euphoria' at Turnmills!!!

So is Carter similar to Lawler, I assume Spektrum are sort of Tech house/electro? Whats Mark Hughes like? And the venues good yah?

Carter is very techy dirty house but a party DJ as well if you get my drift, he never disappoints :D

Marc Hughes is Ministry resident and probably the best ressie in the country imo, if he's playing in the Bar it will be bit more commercial set and he plays darker in the Box.

I love the venue, when you go in you go straight into the Bar, to the far right is the Baby Box and then the Box is on the left and normally opens about midnight which is probably the best main room in the country imo - dark and with an amazing soundsytem :D If the Box gets too much for your girlie take her into the Bar which will be more funky house and really gets going with everyone dancing on the bar :D

Barbie,

Your a star!!! Yeah if it gets too much she can go and sod off to the funky bar like, I will be staying in the main room. Proper hope it gets nice and dark like. So exciting going to a new venue.

Would have gone to fabric, Stacey Pullen is one of my favourite dj's but I'm worried that with it being soul heaven, they will also get all souled up in room two. Can't stand all that stuff, way too soft!!!

Hope you both have a good one ;)

From the listings, the bar has hip-hop (oh joy!), and the baby box has rock'n'roll which could be cool. There was a Saturday Sessions cd last year which both Jon Carter and Mark Hughes mixed, if you check the track-listings that could give you more of a clue. Spektrum made one of last years biggest tunes 'Kinda New' though its the Tiefschwarz version normally played...I expect something electro from them but not sure.
And I saw Jon Carter last year, and he rocked :D

Mate, if you thought I was bad then you should have seen me when he didn't turn up on the Space Terrace

i remember that perfectly! you weren't a happy barbie that evening.

Jon Carter rocked. One of the best sets I've heard in ages. His two hours just flew by. Among the stand-out tunes were his own/Hoxton Whores' Double Drop and a truly thunderous mix of Public Enemy's Bring the Noise. He doesn't play in London often enough.

He plays at Ministry every couple of months and you can also see him @ Type@The Cross sometimes and also Underwater@The End.

Babs the Carter stalker 8O

It was a top night...did you see the band play? I've never seen a dancefloor empty so quickly

Seen Spektrum before at one of the Reclaim the Beach parties. And someone I know used to go out with the lead singer, who is ... interesting. The bar definitely got packed after Carter finished, no question about that. I was on the bar, making a fool of myself. Top night.
