just before he did an album of contemporary covers like "personal jesus" and that "9 inch nails" song that features in the Nike advert, anyone know the name of the album??
 
THIS IS ****ING WEIRD....

I watched walk the line last night and thought "I'd be keen to know more about his music".

My friend rang me this morning and as we were talking he said;

"sorry mate i can't hear you someone is blasting a bloody Jonny Cash song in the back ground"

I thought "Weird"

"Ring of Fire" was playing in the Sandwich Shop at lunchtime.

Now this thread.........
 
"The man comes around" was on the opening credits of the new Dawn Of The Dead. Great song, but one of the few i've ever heard.
 
I love Johnny Cash! You can get the live CD from Folsom Prison (where the beginning and the end of 'Walk the line' take place) as an overview :)
 
i went to see De la Soul in Manchester last week and even Pos was giving his due to Johnny Cash.....

Quite possibly one of the most talented voices to ever come out of country music. Johnny's version of "Hurt", a song written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, was covered by him 3 months or so after his wife died. Johnny has a voice that really shows how much pain he went through.
