What/who/why is she ‘famous’

Why is she ‘important?!’

She ‘hosts’ clubs – what’s the difference between this and promoting?

Why if you get photographed with her are you ‘someone who people should know’??

Is this some kind of a London thing that I will never get unless I live in Shoreditch & work in fashion styling?!

I read an article in the times style supplement and was left nonplussed as to what the hell he/she does that warrants the fuss.

Can someone help. As far as I can see she is just a pretty poor tranny who runs a club night?!

What/who/why is she ‘famous’ - she was on essex uncovered or some reality show, obviously had a great pair of jugs, so hence peeps in the biz, thought they could "make her a star"

Why is she ‘important?!’ - she will always be important so long as Jordan is about.

Chewie misses the point completely

Firstly, she's not a host...she is actually a promoter.

Not my scene or generation but she does put on a couple of VERY successful gigs, namely, Circus in Soho and Foreign in Shoreditch (modern day Anti Social).

She's made her name by being a socialite on the alternative clubbing circuit...and love her or hate her, she's quite a character.

Not as influential as the likes of Johnny Woo (amazing man & London would be a dull place without him) & Ryan Styles - but still, I think it's fun to have her around.

Trannies add a bit of colour to clubs (esp tourist infested ones full of Ben Sherman types because frankly they need a bit of exposure to the concept of gender bending and have their social "norms" challenged).
Amanda Lepore for example - LOVE her! 8)

So yeah, agreed in a sense...but she's a LOT more interesting than most clubbing 'celebs' out there.

 @ chewie

@ agent undercover - she's just a promoter (and DJ) that uses the 'brand' of herself to help promote her nights - far cleverer than having to start a new night from scratch each time when you can just associate it with yourself... She also gets paid to go clubbing essentially, good work if you can get it

being successful at what you do makes her far more of a 'worthy' celebrity than most of the others out there

ah thanks for clearing that up

*runs and hides back in the cupboard*

Ok - i'm not doubting she runs a good night etc. And in an industry where some of the 'faces' are just tired, arrogant and jaded, she can only be positive, I just failed to see the importance out side of the microcosm of the London alternative clubbing world.

I was wondering if there was some kind of new scene/music etc that she was at vangaurd of and/or she was being highly influential in the fashion stakes or summat - which would (in my eyes) have justified a double spread in a national broadsheet. Rather than being a purely londoncentric that may not, however given the location of the media gang is not suprising.

That may sound very provincial I know.

Well she kind of is on the Nu Rave circuit...it's all about being young and feeling like you invented clubbing and are in the middle of a revolution which far surpasses what the previous generation were doing.

These kids have got to stand out somehow and like it or not, they don't want to be associated with the grown-ups and probably don't know, care or have any respect for the Paradise Garage legacy or any dinosaur djs.

It's also a London thing - any new trend albeit a fly-by-night one always attracts new attention...and in this case, I imagine any imitations of Nu Rave outside London would be a bit drab in comparison.

...and being a tranny in itself involves being on the cutting edge of fashion - which I think she is. So, yes to all of the above...she's doing really well at it too. ;)
