ivan smagghe playing in switzerland - opinions please!

i am asking for your opinions again! ivan smagghe will play in zurich in the beginning of march...what can i expect and should i go? yay or nay?

(i heard somewhere he plays electro - house - breaks...so might he be like james zabiela???)

He's nothing like Zabiela. Ivan Smagghe is fab DJ, quite minimal, quite electro-y, listen to his Fabric CD (no 23) which will give you a taster of him.

Agree with Barbie, this guy is an absolute must, he tore the Cocoon Terrace @ Amnesia apart last summer, and his set with Blacstrobe will be on to remember!!!

He's completely different to Smagghe and I don't like him.

alright. well, i've never seen zabiela playing live, but i really love his "utilities" CD...

on the other hand, the minimal sound is quite growing on me these days...so i guess i'll check out smagghe!

didn't make it to zurich last night
damn snowstorm here, motorways were closed (are still closed now!) and driving was a nightmare :x

so natascha and me had a quiet night in with some good red wine - which was also very nice! 8)

but of course i'm gutted i didn't see smagghe well next time then!

Smagghe played Lausanne (Loft Club) not too long ago and Montreux Festival last summer for a live set as Blackstrobe; quite impressive.
Nostrum, come down Lausanne next time, you have my number.
This week end we're going to Crans Montana for the CapricesFestival; Luciano, Villalobos.....on march 11th. You can show your skiing skills.

but sure, the next time i come down to lausanne, i'll let you know...and keep me updated on good line-ups in lausanne (loft, mad, d...whatever) and geneva (weetamix)!
