it sucks!

Yeah it's great when it snows here in England/Wales.. A inch and the place grinds to a standstill . . . two or three and there is complete havoc

Usually resulting in a day off work :p

Well, at least you folks in western Pennsylvania have decent skiing!

It's gotten colder here this week, but no snow yet... though I did see my breath for the first time yesterday :?

It's belting it down here in Ibiza.....loads of mud and a leaking, sodden car

I LOVE it when it snows, but hate the rain :x I wish we had a climate like Ibiza, hot for most of the year and then snowy over the winter. We seem to have 50% rainy months, then a mixture of all the other weathers.

Having said that, I will miss the winter here this year. It'll be strange not having a winter!

Bec when does it snow all winter in Ibiza  ;)

normally once or twice per year, as far as i know. maccie put up a picture last winter when the san an beaches where covered with snow!!!

It's very rare actually and same here in Barcelona atlho we had snow for three years in a row. THe problem is that the place collapses, we are not programmed to cope with snow

Exactly, Bec made it sound like it snows all winter and it becomes a ski resort  ;)

Well they had more snow than South England last year! I know it Scunny they might have a good few inches of snow but for us Londoners born and bred it hardly ever comes! And when it does it turns into mush anyway

right. and all the slopes are found on sa talaia mountain ski resort.:lol: there are some as well though, on the way down to atlantis. mind th trees when racing donwhill there!:lol:

by the way...basically, i absolutely hate the winter. i can't cope with these short days, these long and dark nights, all the cold and the fog. i am always really living up again at the end of february when days get remarkably longer here in switzerland.

the only thing i like about winter - and now i have to say i'm blessed i live in switzerland - is that we can go skiing. we have many various (and very good) skiing resorts and it's only a drive of an hour or two (depending on where i'm going) and i find myself in the middle of the alps, in perfect skiing resorts...so i always long for the weekends during wintertime when i can take my skis and head to another powder weekend!!!!

so - in this way: bring on the snow!

You hate snow and live in Canada... that's really rough!

I'd prefer a year-round temperature of 22-25. 30 is a bit much...

I know... any time I go ANYWHERE... if I ever say "I'm cold!".. people say, "but how can you be cold... you're Canadian?" ( as if out bodies are somehow different and love being in minus 30 or something!  )

There's a saying here (well, not here in Moscow... out there in Siberia):
Siberians aren't people who can better withstand the cold. They're just people who know how to dress for it.

I can actually stand the cold better than a lot of Russians. It awes them when I walk around without a hat because they all think a) I'm African and must have never seen snow before or b) they think the US is subtropical... guess we have too many movies set in California
