Is this the end for day parties in Ibiza?

Yes thats exactly what I was thinking of

Ill get on the case now, Do you think id get many signitures on it from the residents of Ealing?

 I think you might have missed an opportunity on Sunday - I'm sure the locals in the Red Lion would have been first ones to sign the petition, you can tell they're an OOC crowd 8O

I dread to think what minxiness we'd get up to if I got in from one club at 8am and had 6+ hours to kill before another one started 8O
K-fueled roasting orgies, I imagine.

Personally I like a cup of tea and a bit of a lie down. Or if I'm entertaining, a few shandies in the sun somewhere.

Like Morbyd, I usually prefer to attend the afterparty at around midday.

That said, I think people should be allowed to party at whatever time they choose, as long as they don't disturb others with excessive sound and/or parking their cars haphazardly.

8O8O

I'm with the good doctor on this one, and I'd dispute what Babs and Robbie say. Surely, at home, I go straight from party to after-party. In Ibiza, I'd rather take a break, then start up again in the afternoon.

Despite what you say above, I haven't heard of many people from this forum (you included, Babs) who go to We Love, for example, straight from the morning. DC10 nowadays either.

I used to do We Love from opening in my first few visits to the island, but I got tired of a) waiting for the place to fill up and b) feeling deathly by early afternoon. I'd rather start later and take it into the nighttime. I've noticed that pattern among most of the Spotlighters as well.

You know our view - sleep is for lightweights

I know from speaking to most of our friends we'll really miss morning clubbing in Ibiza but even if the clubs aren't open then I'm sure we'll create our own fun

That's the spirit.

They'll never break us! Never!

:o:o

you couldnt beat the Mish Carry on for sillyness, and it will be a shame if morning clubbing is stopped completely. I do agree with Morbyd tho, that a lot (if not most) people get to WLS and DC-10 midday onwards and dont treat them as carry on events anymore.
Before I visited Ibiza (when I was a wee nipper) I used to think "WOW a club that opens at 6am" and that added to its appeal as a place of the unusual - I hope that doesnt stop.

While WLS and DC10 are not that busy before 2pm, they are not really after parties as such in my view. Matinee and the Manumission carry on (RIP) have always been busy by 10 ish, well everytime I have been there.

Even if I havent been out the night before I quite like, getting up early and heading out. Its like Im getting up for the best job in the world in a strange kinda way.

See, I said you were a weirdo 8O

That's my point... I think earlier, more people (though not everyone) viewed them as afterparties than people do today.

You're right, though - Matinee, Manu Carry-On and the one after La Troya (Fake? memory fuzzy) - still had that after-party vibe going. But the Carry-On is gone and La Troya is already at Space now. Matinee isn't much of a carry-on because there's usually not much of interest to do on Friday nights (personal opinion, of course).

Yep it's the Matinees and weekday aftershows that I'm on about - what are we sposed to do on a Saturday morning now 8O

And ditto to the getting up early and heading out, you can't beat getting up and having a rose, Lucozade and Katie breakfast  ;)

I have always thought that WLS is about a close as im ever gonna get to running a marathon. I Like the fact that im gonna be there for 12+ hours. I train for it all year

While I agree with you on the Friday night thing, im sure the thounds of people at Pacha for Peter Tong will disagree with you.

Getting up early? Getting up from what? I thought sleep was for the weak! :p

It's sleeping between clubs that is for the losers ;) We're referring to if there's nothing on clubbingwise the night before and we get up at 7am to head straight out.

It's all about the pre-season training

In all seriousness tho I think that's why some of us will probably miss daytime clubs more if they do RIP cos Ibiza isn't that different from our usual wkends at home - I'm sure if you're from a place where the clubs shut at 4am or whatever and you're used to sleeping at wkends then Ibiza is a drastic shock to your system and that's when people go silly and try and carry on for hours without their training 8O

Exactly Day time clubbing is what makes Ibiza for me, because its totally different than what we get at home.

i don't understand. you're all on holiday when you're here. does it make any difference at all what time of day or night you are getting your music/dancing fix?
