Is Space only worth going to on Sunday

The two times I was there (including the closing party) and if my memory doesn't fail, he began later than scheduled, at about 10pm on the terrace after another techno DJ (Christian Varela, Jack de Marseilles, etc), till some minutes after midnight. At the closing party I believe he was even playing there at 0'30 (exceeding much time the closing time for the terrace).

Meanwhile another DJ (I suppose invited by Carl too or some resident of Space) was playing inside, by now this room was pretty crowded but most of the people were on the terrace. And some time after the terrace had been closed, Carl Cox played inside too. But not sure how much time because I wasn't there until the end.

In my opinion, even though the vibe on the terrace was great (everybody hopping, cheering...), I found Carl Cox's set boring and monotonous both nights. And liked more the DJs who played before, and the ones who were playing inside whilst Cox was on the terrace. But this is a very good value night for everyone who likes techno.

With Sundays@Space being so Epic in length. Are you allowed to leave and then return or would that require a further entrance fee.

You can leave once, you get a wristband on arrival which they cut off when you go back in for a second time.

yes.

IMO people like Laurent Garnier, John Acquaviva, Sven Väth or Ricardo Villalobos are better. But I admit Carl Cox is the DJ of the people, and he's very popular due to his gestures to the clubbers and his movements while in the booth, and due to his past.

I think Carl Cox is probably the best dj about because of the fact he's a shit-hot dj and the music he plays. I couldn't give a monkeys if he was some random down the street or the biggest dj in the world. Infact, I had been a bit put off him due to his popularity before I saw him at Space and it really did blow me away.

Laurent Garnier is great, but can be a bit hit and miss, depends on his mood really. Sven Vath I was a bit disappointed by as he verged on the trance and times and doesn't build up his set in the same way as Cox does.

matinee = gay?

I went to La Comunidad @ Discotheque few months ago and it was OK, but nothing can beat Matinée!!!

Was just checking the Space website and saw the Matinee party; the description said something about 'Spanish Gay Party of Barcelona' ... does Matinee typically draw a gay crowd?

fiz: yes and no

u will have your fair share of gay people there, however most of the croud there is stright (that's at least how it was in the past few years i've been there).

Fusion is true. The only gay club is Anfora actually. The so called gay nights at the main clubs are totally mixed generally (at least the most important nights like La Troya or Matinee, don't anything know about the others).

Okay i know this is a dumb question but 'Space' released an album a few years back (the blue one - if they released more than one)

CD -1 is on the terrace

and is full of uplifting house

Starts off with 'Whats is the deffinition of..... a square.. a box.... a cube '

Film noir i think it is... then goes into moloko, the time is now...

yeah anyway.. who mixed that CD

and when is the best time to hear that beautiful commercially stereotypically and fundementally ballearic sound!

(trying to sound clever with the big words again!!)
