I dont want to. How much is a cheap wedding over there? I would love to have a gathering of friends, family w/ alcohol and music, but not if it's gonna run me £10,000+.

We spent about 5k and that was 3 1/2 weeks away, visiting two Hawaiian Islands, LA, San Diego, Las Vegas, Nevada (Area 51), spending money, hotels, flights, internal transfers, car hire, the wedding everything!!!

A fraction of the cost of a big wedding ....... which I believe if you read recent studies in the papers/magazines/whatever will cost you between 15-25k - that's just amazing 8O 8O !!!!

Married Mrs Jam almost 3 years ago but we had been together 8 years before that.

Each to there own - We did it when we wanted, how we wanted and invited who we wanted.

No un-neccesary formalities, just all the people who meant something to us, in the same place at the same time, enjoying themselves.......

...in a Castle  8)

I'm getting hitched in Ibiza in June.... who's coming!

Sandi, have you found it difficult organising a wedding in Ibiza, I would love to get married there cos that's where me and Tom met but is there lots of red tape/legalities/etc :?

Already had to buy my house twice.... can't see any incentive to getting spliced again ! Divorce is great... you get to be bessie mates with your ex with non of that messy boring stuff going on.

I've been with my partner for nearly eight years but I don't see any point in us geting married unless children are involved which they're not and probably won't be for quite some time.

My parents don't care if we get married or not, although I think his Mum would like it if we had a wedding. My friends would like to be bridesmaids as well! Personally, I can't think of anything worse than having a massive wedding ceremony. The thought of 100s of people all watching me makes me feel quite uneasy. Plus I wouldn't want to get married in a church as religion has never played a part in my life.

We have a mortgage and in many ways, that's a bigger commitment.

We've been together 16 years in August 8O so have outlasted most marriages

We will do it one day but it's way down the list of priorities.

It will definately be no traditional affair when it happens. We hate all that big ceremony thing, we'll go away and do it somewhere special with a few good friends.

Would love to get married- i think its an amazing commitment to make and its really special to share that with the people who are close to you.
Probably wouldnt be a churchy ceremony as the religion thing doesnt mean much to me.

so what do you mean by "getting married"?
"husband and wife (or husband and husband/wife
and wife :-) in front of god"? having a party?
getting the legal papers?

me, i'm more concerned about how me and my
girlfriend go about beeing with each other from
day to day; vacations, parties as well as
everydaylife...

ps) anyone know of some good netshops for cool
t-shirts (in europe/ not too expensive)?

I don't want our wedding to be traditional at all. We'll probably have a civil ceremony and I won't be doing the veil thing and favours or anything like that. I just want it to be a fun day for us and our family and friends.

Yeah I want to get married. I want a new last name, my own one is too difficult!
Also want to throw a big party with a big white tent in the garden and a couple of rockin dj's playing. Partyyy!

Hi Barbie,

Yes the thing is we have to have a civil legal marriage in the UK first then a service in Ibiza. It's been quite easy to organise. We had to meet the Vicar last year and book the Church, luckily our friends own a hotel out in Ibiza so are organising the reception for us.

We are also getting some help from up hospitality who are based on the Island and specialise in Wedding organising.

I guess it depends how much you want to get married there, it was so important to us that nothing would have stood in our way.

Let me know if you want any other info x
