Is it worth a vip table at pacha....

I am coming to Ibiza for the first week of the opening parties. I love Pacha, but have never done the VIP thing. Do you think its worth getting vip for either the opening of subliminal, fmif, or pure pacha? and if so which one (if it even matters)
Oh and I will be comming with my girl friend.

I have investigated this myself via these forums - i think if you type in VIP into search you should get some good info from the other posters - in summary i think it works out at about 300 euros approx per person - for that you get a seat at a table & a bottle of spirits + as many mixers as you want. I suppose if you are there with the missus and perhaps are looking for something a bit more civilised then value wise it is not as bad as it seems given the drinks prices in there. BUT if your just up for aving in large then i would guess its prob not worth it. We considered it and rejected, money that can be spent on other things8) !

We tried it once with a group of friends at Pacha last year. It worked out to about 100 euros per person (including entrance) which more than pays for itself. We got 2 bottles of alcohol (one of which we swapped for a bunch of beers) and unlimited mixers (including water :D).

So, basically, if you're going to have 4-5 drinks in a night, you break even. Plus you get a nice spot to rest in between forays to the dancefloor.

VIP is for losers that aren't there for the music. Getting in on VIP is different-once you're in you can dance. We met a bunch of girls in Pacha a few nights running and they got invited into VIP by these rich twats pouring champagne all over th eplace. They didnt have a clue about th emusic they just wanted fanny. Needless to say they didnt get it

Getting in on VIP is different

I completely agree - for me VIP means that YOU get in to the club for free, YOU can go where you want in the club, YOU get given free drinks. And each to their own as to how they spend their money in Ibiza but for me if you pay for 'VIP' which isn't really 'VIP' then I'd say you're being taken for a bit of a mug.

i know nothing of clubs or vip but i imagine going vip at pacha is a bit like joining the prawn sandwich brigade at united. people who know nothing about what's going on taking up valuable room when someone who really likes it could be there instead. still, as they say, money talks.

Perfect analogy ;)

Well, as I've mentioned before in some other thread, we did it because one of my friends had sprained his knee and needed to be able to sit down regularly and avoid getting bumped around.

Personally, I used our table as a rest stop in between forays to the various non-VIP dancing areas.

I'm personally not the type of person to swoon over being in the VIP section. In this particular instance, it was useful. All of us were there for the music, and none of us are either losers or prawn sandwich types. We weren't "mugs" because we got our money's worth. So all of your statements are inaccurate.

No because generally that is what VIP is like. I had a ****ed foot and couldnt walk for **** but i manned the hell up and soldiered on for the good of the dance music community. Well...kind of.

Good soldier! ;) I'm going out tonight with a bum knee as well. We are tough guys.

My friend (seen occasionally on Spotlight as Piva4me), was walking with a cane at that point, so I guess he wanted to play it safe.

Now you say "generally", but earlier you made a blanket statement. To be honest, I would never have done VIP otherwise... but it wasn't a bad thing to try out once...

edit: I think Babs and I are united in our disdain for what they did in Space, which turned one of our favorite dancing spots into a VIP section, which is always mostly empty!
